About Windermere Manor Hotel
Windermere Manor Hotel suits travellers who want a full-service base for a Lake District break rather than a quick overnight stop - families with children, couples wanting a swim and a proper meal without leaving the grounds, and anyone touring the area by car thanks to the free on-site parking and electric vehicle charge point. With 35 rooms, including family and accessible options, there's a decent spread of accommodation types, though some rooms show their age and could do with better upkeep.
The hotel runs a restaurant and bar, serves a substantial breakfast buffet, and offers evening meals with generous portions. There's an indoor swimming pool kept warm and clean, gardens to wander round, and drinks available in-room. Staff are consistently described as helpful and attentive, and pets are welcome, which suits those travelling with dogs for lakeside walks.
The location on Rayrigg Road puts guests within reach of walking and cycling routes, watersports, fishing, golf and horse riding nearby, plus pubs and restaurants close by for evenings out. It works well as a comfortable, activity-friendly base for exploring Windermere and the surrounding fells, provided expectations for room finish are realistic.

What guests say
What a beautiful setting with fabulous views. A perfect retreat with our aging dog - the very spacious room with direct access to our own patio and grass area was ideal. Additional outdoor areas were accessible, including a large contained space where dogs could be off the leash. Everything, and everyone, was dog-friendly and Cora was even able to join us at all meal times. Our room was decorated in muted calming colours, and the bathroom was surprisingly large with both a shower and bath. The hotel staff were all very friendly and helpful. The location was ideal for visiting a wide range of towns, walks, parks and gardens across Cumbria. I hope to bring my 97 year old Mum next year and stay in one of the ground floor accessible rooms of the main building.

Booked this hotel for one night on route to another holiday for my little boy as he’s been wanting to experience a UK hotel for ages. I checked in online and made a note saying how excited my little boy was and asking if something nice could be done ie a welcome note or something. Lo and behold my little lad got the welcome note but we also got a complimentary upgrade to a much bigger room away from the noise of the main place. The staff were brilliant particularly Amy when we checked in and chatted with my son who was even more excited when he saw his name on the welcome card in the room. The room its self was nice and the bed was very comfy, not often I get a lie in with a 5 year old but I did this morning. Breakfast was equally nice and of good quality. Location excellent and I would recommend this hotel

Unfortunately we only had one night in this hotel. From our arrival, the staff were so very friendly, welcoming and helpful - thank you. Our room was very spacious for three of us. Food was delicious. The view from the garden is beautiful - especially on a warm, sunny day. I would definitely recommend and return.
