This one-bedroom barn conversion is one of five properties arranged around a shared courtyard at Holtby Grange, five miles from the city centre but set back down a private drive with open countryside on all sides. Ground-floor access leads into an open-plan space combining kitchen, dining and living areas, where a wood burner and vaulted ceiling add character. The bedroom has a superking bed, and there is one bathroom with a bath and shower.
The kitchen comes properly equipped for cooking—electric oven, induction hob, dishwasher, microwave and full-sized fridge-freezer sit alongside granite worktops and a Belfast sink. Electricity, Wi-Fi, bed linen and towels are included; you can buy additional wood for the burner. A shared laundry room with washing machine and tumble dryer is available, along with an external utility area. The courtyard itself is enclosed and landscaped with seating, garden furniture and a summerhouse for guests to use. You have parking for two cars on site. A pub lies within a mile. Note that this is a no-smoking property, and there is a fenced pond 100 yards away.

We booked all 5 cottages for our wedding party for the weekend. It was a stunningly beautiful setting with the communal courtyard providing a relaxing setting in the sun (and very well soundproofed both in the courtyard and the cottages). The location is only 15mins ish from York and is in the middle of nowhere meaning it had such peaceful surroundings. The cottage I stayed in, Applegate, had 2 bedrooms/bathrooms and everything we needed kitchen wise (inc sugar/tea/coffee etc, but having some salt and pepper would have been nice). Excellent communication from Elaine and kindly helped us out when I messed up an element of the booking. Thank you!

Am amazing find. . Superb spacious quality accommodation in the most tranquil of settings and just 4 miles from the hustle and bustle of York. We will be back and would most definitely recommend.
