About Midway House
Midway House suits travellers who want a straightforward, comfortable base for exploring York without the fuss of a big hotel. Set in a Victorian house on Fulford Road, it has 12 rooms and works well for those driving in, thanks to free on-site parking, or anyone who simply wants to be within reach of the city centre and its historic landmarks.
Rooms are warm and cosy, and there's a TV lounge for winding down after a day of sightseeing. Guests get breakfast, a restaurant and bar, free WiFi, and use of a gym, indoor swimming pool and spa or sauna. A garden, lift access, luggage storage and porter services round out the practical side, and the property also caters for weddings.
It's a good match for couples or solo travellers after a no-frills stay rather than a lavish one, with the added convenience of parking sorted and the city's attractions close by.
What guests say
Our stay here was very pleasant. Paul was very helpful with his advise on how to go around York. Clean, cozy, and very nearby to city centre. 5 mins to river side walkway through which you can reach the city in 20 mins. Thanks again.

Standard room, cheap price. The person who greeted me at the desk was fantastic informed me of everything I needed. He moved me to a better room as they weren't fully booked out for the night. Bed was comfortable. Price was good would definitely stay again. Good location.
