The Little House

York's West End neighbourhood has a particular character—independent shops, restaurants and bars create the kind of place where you could happily spend an afternoon on foot. The Little House sits right in this area, a compact property converted from a Victorian surgery. At ground level there's a kitchen with electric cooking, dishwasher and fridge, plus a shower room. Upstairs, one double bedroom and a living room with a television and DVD player. Everything needed for a short stay is provided: wi-fi, electricity, bed linen and towels are included.

Two guests, one bedroom, one bathroom, and parking for a car outside. The property doesn't allow smoking. From here, the medieval walls and cathedral are a short walk away, and Rowntree Park—20 acres along the River Ouse—is close enough for an afternoon. Pubs are within a mile, as are independent tearooms and shops. Larger attractions like the Castle Museum and Merchant Adventurers' Hall are in the city centre proper, and if you want to venture further, the Yorkshire Dales and North York Moors are within reach for a day out.
