About Brig Inn
Walk into a room at Brig Inn and you get the essentials done well: drinks in the room, a spot for room service, and free WiFi for catching up on emails or streaming after a day out. It's a no-fuss setup that suits guests who want comfort without extras they won't use.
Downstairs, the restaurant and bar cover breakfast and evening meals, with a garden available for guests who want to step outside. Free on-site parking makes arriving by car straightforward, which matters given the hotel's position a few miles out from central Aberdeen on Ellon Road.
The surrounding area offers plenty for those with a car or a willingness to walk: Hazelhead Park and Pets Corner are nearby, along with golf, fishing, and watersports options, plus other pubs and restaurants within reach. Aberdeen itself is a short drive away for anyone wanting to explore the city centre.

What guests say
We showed up thinking we had a booking, but the rooms were being renovated. Graeme and his team made us feel welcome and did everything possible to accommodate us and ensure we were looked after. We stayed in the only room finished, and it was basic but clean and suitable for us. Local characters helped make the stay an enjoyable and memorable few days.

This review is of staff, service, food and drinks in what is currently still trading as the Brig Inn, but is in the process of changing to the Balgownie Inn under new owners. To be fair, the place is a bit tired looking right now, but talking to Graham, one of said owners, there are big changes and upgrades planned, and we'll look forward to seeing those come to fruition. There's great scope here. Right now though, the staff - Graham in particular - were as friendly, chatty and helpful as you could hope for. The drinks and food were reasonably priced, and the Sunday Roast we tried was as as good as we've had anywhere, so we'll add this to our list of places to go back again 👍🏼

Review is for the restaurant which has reopened serving traditional home cooked pub grub, It's great to have the option to eat here after a few libations whether it be in the pub itself or the freshly decorated restaurant next door, Looking forward to trying the special Sunday roast after sampling the home made sticky toffee pudding. 😋
