About Mercure Aberdeen Caledonian Hotel

Union Street and Marischal College are both an easy walk from the Mercure Aberdeen Caledonian Hotel, making this a handy base for exploring the city centre. Golf, fishing and watersports can all be arranged nearby, and there's no shortage of pubs, bars and restaurants within reach for evenings out.

The hotel itself has 83 rooms across four floors, including family and accessible options, all with en-suite bathrooms and drinks available in the room. Some rooms show their age and can pick up noise from the street or corridors, so it's worth requesting a quieter spot if that matters to you. There's a lift, room service and laundry service for those who want a bit more convenience.

Breakfast is served on site, and the restaurant and bar are known for good, satisfying food, with kids' meals and packed lunches also available. Staff are consistently helpful, and the hotel also offers meeting rooms and business services for those travelling with work in mind. Parking is chargeable and available nearby rather than on site.

Really old, tired dated rooms compared to my last stay around 7 years ago. Broken kettle and lock on bathroom door. Hatch on bathroom ceiling open which made using it a bit uncomfortable and no frosted glass in bathroom window. Carpet coming up in the room as well. On the plus side the beds were comfortable and the room was clean. Great location

Service was lovely, room was upgraded and very clean. A little bit of corridor noise but nothing to be unexpected with an older building. Overall really pleasant stay in a fantastic location. The welcome complimentary snacks were a lifesaver and delightful.

City centre hotel. Good value, great location. Good staff, great bar food and drinks. Large warm room, plenty of hot water. Good bathroom facilities. Only disappointment was breakfast. Shortage of plates, bowls and fresh fried eggs. The quality of the food is not in question but the temperature of the "hot" choice was definitely on the cool side. It didn't ruin the stay but could have been better. I didn't complain at the time but the catering staff would know that it could be much better. Yes, I would stay there again abd I would be prepared to say something

I don't like giving bad reviews. I stay in a lot of hotels for work and nowhere is ever perfect. This is a 4 star hotel, the rooms are well furnished and freshly decorated and have everything you need. However for the first time in years I was unable to eat the cooked breakfast, the mushrooms were old and tasting rank,I actually had to spit them out. The hash browns were undercooked and looked like freezer gravel. The beans were congealed, the tomatoes undercooked and the continental options looked like they had been there a week. Labels were handwritten with no allergen info. They did have plant milks but no other vegan options. The saving grace was the very nice bread. This hotel has let itself down badly over something that could easily be changed at little or no cost. A colleague had stayed here two years before and was equally disappointed. Don't get a room at the front of the hotel unless you are hard of hearing, the night clubs across the way are noisy til the early hours as is the traffic. My room (gordon suite) was too hot even with the radiator off and window open. The bed linen was lovely and fresh but the pillows are cheap. They are stingy with the teabags. If this was 2 star id have said nothing but this was an extremely disappointing experience for a 4* well located hotel.
