About Travelodge Aberdeen Central

Travelodge Aberdeen Central suits anyone who wants a straightforward, affordable base for exploring the city on foot rather than a destination in itself - business visitors, weekend shoppers or travellers passing through who just need a comfortable bed close to everything. The hotel sits on Bridge Street, putting Union Street, the shops, restaurants and the waterfront all within easy walking distance.

There are 97 rooms with en-suite bathrooms, and the hotel offers accessible rooms alongside standard ones. Some rooms are more tired than others and outside noise can be noticeable given the central setting, so light sleepers may want to bear that in mind. A restaurant and bar are on site, breakfast is served each morning, and reception is staffed around the clock. Pets are welcome, and there's an electric vehicle charge point for those driving up.

Parking itself isn't on site, but chargeable parking is available a short walk away at Union Square Shopping Centre. The surrounding area has plenty to fill a stay, from pubs and restaurants nearby to golf, fishing and watersports for those wanting to venture further afield. It's a reliable, well-priced option for a city centre stay rather than a luxury retreat.

I've stayed in a few Travelodges before but this was bad! Great location and the TV/ Bathrooms worked well. Room wasn't clean and I was on the phone constantly trying to work out why WiFi I had to pay for wasn't working? Despite me getting an online receipt to show for it. Last night two fire drills happened back to back once false and the other apparently because another nearby building caught fire and the detectors picked that up... not sure I doubt that... but the beds will let's say BED BUGS were quite happy with it!

On the first morning shower flooded the floor, we have reported it to the staff they said they would fix it and give us different room. When we returned the night shift didn't have any knowledge of the issue. The second morning the shower flooded again. We got moved. Staff was very helpful and pleased at all times. The hotel is in very poor condition. We wouldn't recommend.

The price is low but even for a Travelodge the rooms have a clinical, unhomely feel. That said, everything was basically in order and the breakfast was good. Staff were friendly and helpful. The biggest problem is the amount of noise coming in from outside. This is especially bad at the back of the hotel which faces onto a dual carriageway that enters an underpass right behind the hotel, creating horrendous reverberation. It was a miracle I got much sleep. I'd stay here again but only if I really had to; there are cheap hotels everywhere in Aberdeen and other franchise brands are just around the corner.

The beds were so incredibly uncomfortable as well as the bathroom light barely worked AND on top of that the fire alarm kept going off to the point it was waking me out of sleep and our key cards barely worked half the time. As much as Its handy due to how close it is to everything is i cant overlook the consistency of cons over pros.
