About The Pig Place

Tucked near Adderbury, The Pig Place is an adults-only site with a genuinely relaxed vibe and plenty of character. Pitches—from small 'Piglet' tent spots to larger 'Hog' options and electric 'Sow' touring pitches—are set on grass, many with dedicated fire pits by the canal where you can settle in for the evening. The friendly team keep things welcoming, and there's more going on than you might expect: a farm shop, food and bar trailers, quiz nights, and live music all feature regularly.

Dogs are welcome throughout, and while there are no showers on site (so come prepared), the lack of frills is part of the charm. It's a straightforward, sociable spot that works well if you want a proper camping feel with a bit of community atmosphere thrown in.

Fantastic place. Staff were friendly. Great set up with the trailers for food and bar. Quiz and Dj sessions was good fun. We launch our kayaks from the jetty, paddled up to the marina (at Great Western Arms) and stopped for coffee and cake from the Brew Box. Had a good lunch before setting of for home. Also pigs were friendly!!

Just the loveliest place with really good vibes. Everyone is so kind and friendly, and the facilities are great (inc. beer on tap and fresh pizza!). Location is fab - lots of dog walks and cute towns/villages nearby. Really loved the Friday night quiz - lots of fun! Oh and the pigs are very cute :)

I had a very disappointing experience trying to enquire about Pig Place Camping. I called to ask for some basic information as we are new to camping, and the interaction felt unnecessarily rude from the start. The woman I spoke to came across as sarcastic, impatient, and dismissive, and instead of helping me understand things as a beginner, I was made to feel like I was wasting her time for asking questions that were perfectly reasonable. After that call, | looked into the campsite further before making any booking. I read a large number of reviews online that mentioned similar experiences, with several people describing the owner as rude or unwelcoming. What stood out even more was that some of the replies to negative reviews also came across as defensive and dismissive, rather than acknowledging concerns, which gave the impression that this isn't an isolated issue but a repeated concern raised by different visitors. I also looked at social media content and Tik Tok videos to get a better sense of the site. While the location itself may appeal to some, the overall impression from both reviews and responses made me hesitant. The facilities also appeared very basic, including portable-style toilets, which in the footage I saw did not look particularly clean or well maintained, which was another concern for us. Overall, between my own experience on the phone and the consistent themes in other people's reviews about poor communication, rudeness, attitude, and customer service, it didn't feel like a welcoming place for first-time campers. We ultimately decided not to book and chose a different campsite that felt much more friendly and accommodating. Our experience at the local campsite instead was brilliant and exactly what we were hoping for.

Adult only and dog-friendly campsite. We visited as the Saucy Hound is on the Bike and Brew passport scheme this year. The food was good, reasonably priced - especially for a campsite and the vibe is nice. There’s a little shop and a small bar too, with seating areas and a nice view down the hill to the canal nearby. It was nice to see the rare breed pigs too!
