The Old Timber Yard
West Northamptonshire

Two people travelling as a couple, or one person seeking solitude, will find The Old Timber Yard straightforward and unpretentious. This shepherd's hut stands in open countryside near the Northamptonshire-Oxfordshire border, away from crowds but not from reach of things to do. You get the whole place to yourself, including parking right outside.
Inside is a double bed, a shower room with toilet, and a kitchenette equipped for basic cooking. Electricity, bed linen and towels are included. There's a wood burner for evenings, and an outdoor seating and dining area facing the fields. One dog or cat can come with you. The hut does not permit smoking.
The location suits visitors interested in walking—public footpaths lead directly into the surrounding landscape—or those using it as a base for days out. Blenheim Palace, Warwick Castle and Stratford-upon-Avon are all within an hour's drive. Silverstone, Bicester Village and various country pubs are nearby. The airfield next door hosts a skydiving centre and gliding club if aerial activities appeal.
