Mariner Leisure Centre

It's a bit worn in places and at busy periods there's a lack of car park spaces. However the activities for the little ones in the pool and the waves are good fun for the kids. It is very much a play pool rather than somewhere to go and swim laps. You need £1 for the lockers and the changing rooms are unisex. The cafe is nice and the food is nice. There's a soft play area as well but I didn't use this.

Great swimming pool for kids, great soft play centre and cafe good too. Staff usually friendly and helpful. But the centre had major issues with the swimming pool lockers. Many lockers are broken not just one or two. This is a major problem. Had this problem multiple times during school hols. First time we got less than 30 mins in pool. I think we were given wrong band colour as well, which didn't help. My son was v upset. Anyway, back to the lockers, you put your £1 in: issues are £1 comes straight back out, or £1 stays in but locker won't lock and sometimes locker keeps £1 even when it hasn't locked, or you put £1 in and locker locks but key won't come out. Also many lockers have broken keys. Trying multiple lockers and having to move stuff from one locker to another to another to another is frustrating and also wastes time when customers should be enjoying time in swimming pool. Can customers come swimming without money, house keys & car keys etc? Swimming costumes don't usually have pockets for keeping valuables dry & safe in. Therefore Mariner Centre you need to get every locker tested and all broken ones fixed. As you will be held responsible if any customers valuables go missing. Also today I went into a cubicle next to my son only to find my cubicle had no door, so my son and I moved to 2 different cubicles. The 2nd cubicle that I tried had a broken lock. By the time I realised this, my son had started getting ready, so we weren't going to move again. I had door shut. A male customer pushed it to try to open it. I pushed it closed again. He didn't apologise. I kept my back against door after that. Heard the man saying more than once to his child "The lady didn't locked her door". So I said more than once "No, the lady tried to lock the door but the lock is broken". Cucible doors in swimming pools in my experience are usually left open when not in use! If they're closed, usually they're being used. So I would never push one open. Mariner centre, if cubicles are broken and lockers broken you need to put signs up saying "Out of order".

The Mariner Centre in Falkirk is an amazing place to take the kids and the staff go above and beyond to help. My experience today left me in tears when we attended with our autistic Grandson.. He has a routine that involves looking and taking his time before he can transition to an activity which involves walking around and being in and out of areas before he settles. Their, patience, understanding , kindness and empathy was exceptional. Nothing was a bother .I felt very emotional and very grateful to them. Thank you for making our day out really great!!!.. 💕 😃

Went with my 7 month old, but the baby change area was taken up by people who don't actually have babies just because they were larger cubicles, so waiting for a changing room was extremely annoying and there were only a handful. This totally could be doing with more bigger cubicles in the main changing room. As the smaller ones were barely used but weren't suitable for me to use. Also the baby pool was not that warm. This would definitely put me off swimming here again. So for a 10 minute swim I was there about 30mins getting ready and then another 30mins getting back into my clothes just from waiting on a cubicle.
