An interesting castle mixing relatively modern furnishings with much older works. The grounds have good parking and the toilet facilities are clean and well maintained. The castle is not suitable for wheelchair users and has tight, steep, and variable height spiral stairs above the first floor. Worth a visit to see, if you don't have mobility issues then place is beautiful. The staff are helpful and supportive.

This prototype Disney Castle astonished us. Pink like the stone it's made of, purchased by Danzig Willy (a merchant who made his money from trade in the Baltic based in the port of Memel - now in Lithuania). There are two stone spiral staircases, one "secret", and layers of pine panelled rooms topped by turrets. Our guide, David, was brilliant. There's an outdoor kiosk for coffee and snacks.

A fairy princess pink castle,( it is said it was Walt Disney's inspiration for his trademark) lived in until the 1960s. Very knowledgeable guide. Also a kiosk for snacks. Only open Easter to October. Also worth visiting Crathes and Drum to complete the set of nearby pink castles. They are all quite different.

Lovely castle and the guide was excellent, just had a short wait as the tours were filling up , I suggest you book your tour as soon as you arrive and then maybe have a wander round the grounds while you wait
