Aboyne Loch Caravan Park is one of Royal Deeside's longer-established touring sites, set in mature grounds beside its namesake loch half a mile from Aboyne village. The park runs from April to October and focuses squarely on touring caravans and motorhomes, with hardstanding pitches and electric hook-ups, though a small cluster of self-catering lodges (known locally as Golf View) provides an alternative for those without their own unit. Coarse fishing permits for the loch are available at reception, and the location puts you within walking distance of Aboyne's shops and cafés.
The set-up is practical rather than polished—dogs are welcome on leads—and the ten-mile distance from Ballater keeps Balmoral, Lochnagar and the village itself well within day-trip range. Nearby Dinnet nature reserve and local golf courses add breadth to the offer, making it a sensible, unfussy base for anyone touring Deeside by road rather than under canvas.

Great place to visit, very clean, well looked after and lovely relaxed feel about the place. Carol the owner was so kind to us and let us in when we arrived last minute, helping us find a tent pitch that was sheltered from the wind. Would recommend

Bikepacking, camping. This place has a couple of small areas for small tents. Big groups in tents probably won’t get on, but if you’re looking to pitch your tent for one or 2 people it’s great. Great facilities, very friendly and helpful staff.

Fantastic weeks holiday here. Caravan is in a quiet location surrounded by nature. Avril, the manager was so welcoming and went above and beyond on numerous occassions during our stay. The caravan was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and had more than ample room. Loads of walking and cycling routes nearby and an excellent place to stay to explore nearby Ballater and Braemar. Can not wait until we have the opportunity to come back.

We booked the Golf View Lodge as you enter the caravan park. We had a family wedding in Aboyne, perfect location for it. The Lodge was in an amazing setting right on the loch. It was beautiful, clean and very big. Hopefully return at a later date.
