What. A. Place. To. Stay! If you’re after a retreat and a relaxing getaway, (with a decent budget to spend), Langdale Spa has it for you. I brought a Virgin Experience Voucher for my partner: “Weekend Two Night Luxury Lake District Break with Breakfast for Two at The Langdale Hotel”. Please note, as I found out promptly, this voucher does NOT include spa access - only the generic access to the onsite pool which features a shared hot tub, 2 treatment rooms (steam / sauna). We ended up paying for the Spa access for a few hours, which added up quickly onto our trip budget but it was worth it. Our apartment was a fantastic size, very clean and kept us super warm. The onsite facilities are brilliant, and the Spa does give you a great experience. We had breakfast included, which was honestly the best buffet style food I’ve had in a very long time. All the food was cooked to perfection, and they had a great selection of everything you could need. We certainly filled up for the day before our adventures out before coming back to unwind for the evening. We did find at busy periods, parking can be limited but usually can find a space. The site itself is super relaxing, modern but hidden away enough from some of the very busy areas of the lakes. Feels like your miles away from it all surrounded by fantastic views.

Really liked this hotel, stayed this weekend with the lovely weather. The fitness suite meets all your needs if you don’t want to go to the spa. Room decor was lovely, staff attentive. Stove is surprisingly really nice restaurant, often find hotel restaurant food isn’t the best. We ate one night, the chicken escalope was really good! Also the happy hour 4-6 half price was great. Would definitely come back

This hotel was generally a pleasant choice for spending an enjoyable day. The rooms were spacious, thoughtfully designed, and most importantly, very clean. The room temperature was also very comfortable. The spa area inside the hotel was enjoyable; however, I believe it should have been warmer. In addition, the meat platter included in our spa package was not brought to us unless we asked for it, and the staff did not seem to be informed about it. As a restaurant owner and chef, I found the dinner menu quite insufficient. There were very limited options, and the overall quality and flavor of the dishes did not meet expectations. In particular, the garlic bread was still doughy and undercooked, while the Padron peppers were overcooked. These are details that do not suit an establishment of this standard. On the other hand, the breakfast buffet was satisfying, well-prepared, and offered an adequate variety of options. Regarding the staff, the reception and service team were generally attentive, helpful, and welcoming. However, the female receptionist at the entrance of the restaurant stood out with a rather cold and distant attitude. Overall, the hotel provided a positive experience in terms of cleanliness, room comfort, and staff attentiveness. However, considering the quality of the dinner service and certain service related shortcomings, I do not believe it fully meets expectations in terms of value for money.

I just wanted to highlight a few things for those wishing to stay here. The location is fantastic, as good as it gets really. The area of the estate is well kept and they have a nice pub on site (restaurant a bit slow). The rooms are nice and clean and the breakfast is good. However, I had some difficulties with the facilities. The hotel is marketed as a spa and wellness hotel, and for the price of the rooms ~300 per night, I would have expected a bit more included with that. The wellness facilities (pool, sauna, steam room, gym) NOT the spa, are free to use for hotel guests. However, when I came in there were children screaming and nowhere to sit. They didn't have anything for my feet so I would've had to walk around bare footed and I didn't trust the state of the floors. I ultimately didn't use these facilities and so looked into paying on top of my room cost to use the spa. Here lies my main issue. You cannot simply just pay to enter the spa. At the very lowest level it is packaged as some kind of thermal experience with prosecco and a charcuterie board. It is £85 per person for 3 hours. Therefore, if you want to use the spa multiple times during your visit, you can expect to have copious amounts of cured meat you didn't want to pay for thrust at you. Please adjust your pricing system. I would be happy to pay to enter the spa but I don't need the lowest tier of entry inflated with frills - make these an optional extra!
