We stayed here for one night when hiking up Esk Pike and Bowfell. There are loads of static caravans and they all seem to be brand new. It's a great location to start your hike, and there are a couple of very nice pubs nearby. However, if your climbing to Scafell Pike or Risk Pike, it's a long walk from here, we covered 21km, but I'm not complaining, we really enjoyed it. Graham who runs the site was a nice guy and didn't mind that we only just made it before 10pm. The caravan was really nice and the beds were very comfortable, and it had everything you'll need in the kitchen. The area is really beautiful, and the only downside with the location is it's a long drive to any shops, we drove to pickup a pizza at Dominos in Ambleside, as that's the closest shops. One important thing to know is if you book on Airbnb, it only gives a postcode, and for us it would have really helped to know is called Greenhowe, as we were driving around trying to find it with no mobile signal.

A fantastic place to stay if you want to get away to the lakes. Great value for money. Walking distance to 3 pubs. The best looking part of the lakes. Downside is the place needs a lot of work done to bring it back to how it was 10 years ago

I don’t know how people can leave a bad review here! We booked last minute and on arrival had a lovely welcome and shown to our caravan. We added on to our stay a few more nights as we loved it that much and there were no issues whatsoever! Can’t wait to go go back xx

I have been using Greenhowe for over 20 years, from when I was a child to now, bringing my own children. It never disappoints. The caravans are always clean and cozy and you quickly feel at home. The owner is always friendly and helpful. The location is superb with stunning views of the Langdale Pikes, you're close to some fab pubs and central to so many iconic places in the Lakes. Can't wait to return.
