Skelwith Bridge Hotel

An absolute masterpiece of a stay! The Skelwith Bridge Hotel is breathtakingly gorgeous, radiating warmth, luxury, and charm from the moment you step through the door. But the absolute crown jewels of this place are Toni and Aiden, truly the most phenomenal, glorious staff you could ever hope to meet! Their warmth, sparkling energy, and impeccable service turned an already wonderful getaway into an unforgettable fairytale experience. If I could give them ten stars, I would. Simply world-class!

A two night stay which corresponded with the later stages of the football World Cup. A problem with Wi-Fi in my room was thankfully resolved so viewing was good. I think I got an upgrade because my allocated room was still occupied, bath and room was huge! The food was very good for both breakfast and dinner. The bar and stairs/corridors could do with a bit of smartening up but overall a nice stay and attentive staff

What a fantastic hotel,staff and accommodation. Food was excellent, well priced the room was clean and fresh and very comfortable, serviced daily. Breakfast was lovely lots of choice and again service great. Thank you to all the staff for all the hard work you put into making your visitors happy, would recommend this hotel.

We have been about six or seven times to this hotel over the past twenty years. We booked early in the year so got a good deal, but I have to admit to being a little apprehensive for our stay due to recent reviews, which are quite mixed. However, from the minute we checked in our experience has been nothing positive. All the staff were polite, helpful and full of smiles, the room was large, clean and very comfortable. Yes, the hotel is a little faded around the edges but that's part of its charm. We ate in the bar both nights, one night being fairly quiet, the other fairly busy. The young barman coped very well, full of energy and kept his his cool. The meals were delicious, especially the pie and the sticky toffee pudding. The breakfast service has now changed, for the better in my opinion, where you help yourself to cereals, beverages, , fruit salad, yoghurts, toast and pastries. The coffee from the coffee machine is excellent. We had Eggs Florentine both mornings, absolutely fab. Considering the cost of staff and energy these days, the hotel, like many others, has had to adapt and cope with less staff. All things considered I think they manage this very well and made our stay memorable. This has been one of our best stays at this hotel. It is ideally placed for keen mountaineers/cyclists or for those who prefer a less strenous walk or even with motability issues as there are numerous low level paths. Reading some of the reviews I do wonder if people research first , it's such a beautiful picturesque area. Yes, that's all there is, beautful scenery, walks, waterfalls, narrow roads...all part of the charm.
