The St Andrews Treasure Trail

Views good, bathrooms less so. We stayed on the touring site, a lovely spot with views of St Andrews, and right on the coastal path. Only 10 mins walk to the beach. Papa Johns on site will deliver to your pitch. The bar was fine, the outside space has good views but the inside was quite large and lacked a bit of character. The football was on loudly when we were there. Not many healthy options on the menu, tried to order the Caesar salad but they’d run out. I was very disappointed with the bathrooms, they are newly built so in good repair, but they’re all individual toilets with showers in, and they are unisex. It feels like a public toilet with a shower squeezed in, there is no clean/dry area to change. The whole room is wet and steamy and feels mostly like a toilet - I dropped my towel off the hook on the back of the door so it landed right between the toilet and door, really gross. Nowhere clean to do contact lenses, make up, dry hair etc. All the toilet/shower rooms are straight off the corridor so you’re only one dodgy lock away from a man walking in on you naked in the shower - someone tried the door whilst I was in there, it was very disconcerting. At the very least they could have a women’s only corridor. It would put me off staying again unfortunately.

Lovely site. Nice sized pitches, well kept. EHU available. Fab shower and toilet facilities, always clean. 10 minute walk down the hill to the beach. There are some steps and the path is uneven in places so not suitable for prams, wheelchairs or anyone with walking difficulties. Easy access into beautiful St Andrews once you’ve navigated the path

We are on pitch 51, on the touring site, we have had flash storms since 9am. The roads are so damaged from previous storms the water has diverted and poured through our awning soaking everything and leaving orange mud. Spoke to a member of staff who took pictures, a second member of staff appeared, told us they could not get the red blaise to repair road, asked to speak to manager he was too busy. Told I could leave and they would reimburse me. I asked if they could divert the water, was told they could not get tractor down road, yet big campervans can get down with ease. Neighbouring caravan also flooded, he told me when he complained the manager was uninterested. Returned from day out and awning again soaking. Great location, but customer service is appalling. Look elsewhere would be my advice.
