Barrach
Argyll and Bute
Barrach is an architect-designed house standing alone on a farm track in Mid-Argyll, surrounded by hills and woodland close to Loch Craignish. The owners built it themselves, and it comes with a private outdoor sauna—a genuine rarity for a holiday rental. The property is wholly yours, set roughly 1.5 miles from Ardfern village and within walking distance of the loch's sheltered waters.
Inside, a galleried living space with cathedral ceiling dominates the ground floor, opening onto a south-facing garden through patio doors. A woodburner (logs supplied) warms the open-plan kitchen and dining area. The ground-floor bedroom can be configured as either a king or twin beds; upstairs, a second bedroom has a king bed plus two cabin beds built into the eaves. There are two bathrooms—one with a bath and shower, one with a cubicle shower. The kitchen is fully equipped for cooking; essentials like electricity, heating, wi-fi, bed linen and towels are all included. One dog stays free.
The enclosed lawned garden has furniture and a barbecue. A 15-minute walk up the track reaches Barr Mor hill with views across the Sound of Jura and Crinan. This suits families wanting space and nature in equal measure, or anyone seeking solitude with access to both walking and water-based activities. No smoking indoors.
