Byre Cottage
Argyll and Bute
Photo: Google Maps
The Kyles of Bute and Tighnabruaich's sandy beaches lie just a few miles from Byre Cottage, while the River Ruel runs through the 150 acres of woodland surrounding the property—guests can fish for trout and salmon free of charge from May to September. A pub serving food is 7 miles away at Colintraive, and Tighnabruaich itself has shops, restaurants and a nine-hole golf course. The cottage is one of several converted farm buildings arranged around a private courtyard, giving it a sense of seclusion within the larger estate grounds.
The three bedrooms—a kingsize, two singles, and a three-quarter double—and two bathrooms are all on the ground floor. The open-plan living space has a kitchen equipped for proper cooking, a dining area, and a sitting room with a woodburner. Bed linen, towels, electricity and wifi are included; the cottage has its own parking for two cars and a bike store. An enclosed patio with garden furniture and barbecue looks over the grounds. The property has a natural water supply from a spring, and there is an unfenced burn and waterfall in the surrounding woodland. One dog is welcome. No smoking inside.
