Highland Cottage
Argyll and Bute
Argyll and Bute's landscape of sea lochs, fragmented coastline and wooded glens provides the setting for Highland Cottage, a sympathetically restored former farm building now furnished in contemporary Scottish style. The property sits within 150 acres of shared grounds, rich with wildlife and mature trees, where guests have free use of trout and salmon fishing on the river beat during the season—a fishing hut serves as a peaceful spot for a picnic. The Kyles of Bute, one of Scotland's most celebrated views, lies 6 miles away; Tighnabruaich's natural bays and sandy beach are equally close.
The cottage accommodates six across three bedrooms, each with a king bed. One bedroom has an ensuite shower; a second bathroom with bath and shower serves the other two. Downstairs, an open-plan living space centres on a wood fire, with a separate dining and kitchen area equipped for self-catering—electric cooker, fridge freezer, washing machine and tumble dryer are all provided. Wifi, heating, electricity, bed linen and towels are included, along with logs for the fire. A patio with garden furniture and barbecue opens onto the courtyard; private parking is available for two cars. The grounds contain an unfenced burn, waterfall and steep drops, so these need care if visiting with young children. No smoking inside.
