Firwood Apartment occupies the ground floor of a detached house in this rural setting, with views across Holy Loch from its dining room. The building dates from 1821 but has been updated with modern heating and amenities. You have the whole property to yourself, though the owners and their dogs live in the upper flat.

The layout suits a family or two couples: two bedrooms (one double, one with a bunk and single bed), a shower room, and separate living and dining spaces. The kitchen is equipped for proper cooking, with an electric oven, hob, dishwasher and all the basics. There's a sitting area with an enclosed front garden where you can sit out, and on-road parking outside. Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are covered. One dog stays free; the owners ask that cats are not brought to the property.

Four steps lead to the entrance. There is no washing machine on-site and no open fires. Wi-Fi can be patchy given the rural location. Check-in is after 4pm and checkout before 10am.
