Glenfruin Lodge

Glenfruin Lodge is a semi-detached cottage built at ground level on the west side of Loch Lomond, about two miles from the water itself. The interior has wooden flooring throughout, vaulted ceilings and traditional shutters. A woodburner with oak beam mantelpiece anchors the living area, which has a sofa bed as well as a separate bedroom with a zip-and-link bed that converts between super-king and twin configuration. Patio doors from the bedroom open onto the garden.

The bathroom contains a freestanding whirlpool bath and separate shower cubicle, fully tiled. The kitchen is comprehensively fitted with electric oven and hob, dishwasher, microwave and washer-dryer, so you can cook and launder as needed. Electricity, bed linen, towels and wi-fi are all included; the initial load of wood for the burner comes with the booking. One well-behaved pet stays free of charge.

Outside is a grassy garden with patio area and furniture, a small stream running through to open forest beyond, and off-road parking for two cars. A pub lies within a mile. The location suits couples and small families wanting to explore Loch Lomond and the Trossachs National Park. No smoking indoors.
