Hobgoblin Apartment 2 occupies the first floor of a period property in Colintraive, a quiet village on the Cowal Peninsula. The apartment has two bedrooms—one with a king bed and ensuite shower room, the other with a zip-and-link bed that can be configured as two singles on request—plus a family bathroom. Downstairs, a living room centres on a wood-burning stove, while the kitchen-diner has electric cooking and is equipped for self-catering. A travel cot and highchair are available if needed.

Essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are included, along with initial fuel for the stove. You have private parking for one car on site and access to a shared garden. The area suits families and walkers: the Gruffalo Trail winds through nearby Ardkinglas Woodland with themed sculptures for children, and the surrounding coastline and forest offer quieter routes on foot. No smoking is permitted in the apartment.

Alan Millin

Hobgoblin Apartments is an exceptional destination, ideally located to allow guests to enjoy the wealth of the surrounding Scottish countryside, lochs, castles, islands, and Argyll’s Secret Coast trail. Whether you like to explore on foot, by bicycle, or car, Hobgoblin at Glendaruel is the place to be. Hosts Lynette and Angus work tirelessly to ensure guests enjoy their time here. The Prince, a wonderful boat with more than a century of rich history, sets a new standard for unique accommodation with a splash of luxury and style. Added to this is the fact that you can also enjoy a ‘wee dram’ on the outside decking, without fear of falling into any water afterwards. The Prince is exceptionally well appointed and presented; it’s comfortable, quirky, and represents great value. As there is only one ‘Prince’, I recommend booking early…
