Oban's position as a working harbour with daily ferries to Mull, Iona and Staffa makes it the obvious base for island hopping, but the town itself rewards a longer stay. The seafood restaurants, cafes and shops line the streets within easy walking distance of Torlochan. Glencruitten Road, where the cottage sits on a quiet residential street, leads to a golf course, riding stables and woodland walks with views across the town and surrounding countryside. Glen Lonan, Loch Nell and Connel are all reachable by car for a day out.
The cottage is a semi-detached property on one level, with two bedrooms—one double and one with zip-and-link single beds—and a shower room. The living space is open plan, with a kitchen (electric oven and gas hob) that opens onto a small rear garden. Essentials including heating, bed linen, towels and wifi are covered. There is parking for one car on site, and a ramp to the rear entrance for level access.
No smoking inside. Check-in is after 4pm and checkout before 10am.

I hugely enjoyed my stay at Torlochan (March 2026). It is a lovely self-catering cottage and very convenient for visiting Oban and the surrounding areas. The cottage is well equipped, clean, quiet and cosy during inclement weather. Key local amenities (supermarkets, pubs, rail station, ferry port etc.) are all within walking distance. I would recommend to anyone visiting the area.
