About Avisford Park Hotel

Avisford Park Hotel is built around a Georgian manor house at Walberton, set in 89 acres of Sussex parkland between Arundel and Chichester and geared as much towards leisure and golf breaks as towards sightseeing stays. The 18-hole golf course, indoor and outdoor swimming pools, fitness room, tennis courts and croquet lawn give it a resort-like scale unusual for this part of West Sussex, and rooms range from standard doubles to larger executive and family rooms.

The hotel's size and facilities make it a popular choice for golf groups, families and wedding parties alongside individual guests, with a restaurant and bar serving food through the day and function space used regularly for events. Its parkland setting gives plenty of room to spread out, a contrast to the more compact character of Arundel's town-centre hotels.

Arundel itself is a short drive away, as is Chichester with its own cathedral and Roman heritage, putting Avisford Park within easy reach of both towns while offering considerably more on-site leisure space than a town-centre stay.

We chose Avisford Park to host our 40th Wedding Anniversary party and in the end we could not have been happier. The setting and location are perfect and giving people the option of staying on site made it much easier for those traveling long distances. There were some issues with IT, coordination and communications largely caused by Crest hotel's recent takeover of Avisford. The Avisford team in the lead up to the event were great in helping us sort out these issues and on the day itself they came into their own, everything ran like clockwork for the party. We thought the quality and presentation of the evening meal served to our guests was very good and the service well timed, fast and efficient. Not easy with that number of people. Overall we felt well looked after. Thank you! For the guests who stayed at the hotel the team went out of their way to accommodate everyone’s needs. Avisford Park Hotel is an old, historic building so there is no lift and no air conditioning in the bedrooms but fans were supplied and luggage was carried to rooms. The team on reception went the extra mile to make sure everyone's needs were met. We really could not have asked for more and it made our event one to remember, for all the right reasons.

A wonderful family-friendly stay in beautiful Sussex Liked · We have stayed at Avisford Hotel twice already this year, and it has quickly become one of our favourite places to stay in Sussex, especially when travelling home from Butlin’s. The hotel is very family-friendly, welcoming and relaxing. Our rooms have felt fresh and comfortable on both visits, with clean towels, a powerful shower and everything we needed for an enjoyable stay. One of the biggest highlights for us is the leisure area. The swimming pool is warm, clean and ideal for families with young children. The sauna and steam room are also lovely for adults who want a little time to unwind. The hotel’s beautiful open grounds are another real advantage. The abundant meadows and golf-course setting give children plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors, while creating a peaceful countryside atmosphere for parents. It feels calm and spacious rather than crowded or enclosed. Avisford is particularly convenient for families visiting attractions around Sussex or looking for a comfortable stop before or after a Butlin’s holiday. The combination of a warm pool, clean rooms, relaxing facilities and lovely green surroundings makes it much more than simply an overnight stop. We have enjoyed both of our visits and would happily return again. A lovely, dependable family hotel in a beautiful setting. Disliked · Nothing. It's an old beautiful building with history and I always enjoy our stay. I wish we could have stayed longer.

Start with the positives, great location and do near everything The hotel itself is tired! Poorly maintained including rows of pots with dead plants and a lack of general garden or hotel maintenance The staff are average at best, the reception team are as welcoming as doctors receptionists but tbf they are better than the rest. The bar staff are not in it for jolly chats and the gym staff are rude and unhelpful they did have to get up from sitting around chatting to help us which clearly irritated them but fortunately we were t there long do they could go back to doing absolutely nothing again We paid £194 a night. Honestly it’s not worth it.

We chose here for our 40th anniversary and we found our bedroom sprinkled with rose petals with hugging-swan towels and some celebratory fizz which was a wonderful surprise! Our room was very spacious and had everything you could need, the bed was comfy and we both slept soundly. There is a beautiful intermittent air freshner spray in the reception area which I loved! The food was very tasty - breakfast was plentiful and the dining area is lovely and light. We are planning to return in the Autumn. Thank you to all the team 😊
