Woodland touring pitches near Slindon, around ten miles from Midhurst

About Old Farm Camp and Touring Site

Tucked into quiet woodland near Slindon village, this twenty-pitch site offers a properly equipped touring base between Arundel and Chichester. Every pitch comes with electric hookup and water tap, and the facilities – hot showers, hairdryers, a large communal wash-up area and site-wide WiFi – are a step up from the more basic tents-only options closer to Midhurst. A communal freezer keeps ice blocks frozen for cool boxes, and bridleway walks lead straight from the pitches into the surrounding trees.

The sheltered woodland setting feels genuinely peaceful, and Slindon village, with its own shop, is an easy walk for supplies. Open late March to late October, the site sits midway between Arundel Castle and Chichester Cathedral, making it a useful base for day trips across the South Downs and wider West Sussex. For anyone touring with a caravan or motorhome, the combination of full services and a tranquil wooded backdrop makes this the pick of the local trio.

What visitors say

Paulina Gajda

Old Farm Touring and Camping in Arundel We highly recommend this campsite; it offers friendly service and is a clean, pleasant, small site where you can enjoy peace and relaxation amidst the trees. The pitches are nicely arranged around a central lawn featuring tables and benches—a great spot to sit and socialize with others—while the pitches themselves are situated in a lovely wooded area, providing welcome shade on hot days. The shower and toilet facilities are clean and frequently serviced; all essentials are provided, including soap, toilet paper, and even a hair dryer and hand dryer. The campsite also features a dishwashing area and a small playground in the woods. We warmly recommend this place; the only minor downside for some might be the noise from a busy road running very close by, though it didn't bother us at all. All pitches have access to electricity and water; the campsite is situated in a great location near Arundel Castle, making it an excellent base for sightseeing. Thank You Old Farm A video from this campsite is available on our tiny YouTube channel, Diesel Adventure.

Camping is described as a quiet place but in reality it has noise from the road 24/7. All facilities are present ( toilets, showers, sinks, freezer, electricity). On busy weekends it’s pretty packed and pitches are really close to each other resulting in different groups of people being very close to each other.

Visited early April for one night, great commutation from evee the owner. Pitch was spacious with water and electricity available it was priced fairly well. Facilities were clean and tidy. Good security with access via a coded gate. Fresh duck/chicken eggs available at the gate. A small play park fo the kids and a large grassed area in the middle for ball games, Nice wooded area made it feel very much in the countryside. Location is just off the duel carriage way so there was some background noise but didn’t affect our enjoyment. A very calm and relaxed atmosphere.

Nice secluded site with fully serviced pitches. Some lovely country walks in surrounding woods and the slindon forge cafe a 20min walk away. Nice to just take a break from the busy day to day. Yes theres some traffic noise from Main road but the side bank is built up so no risk to camp and you cant see the road as there are plenty of trees, which once more matured will muffle the sound more anyway. Overall a nice home away from home for a few nights.
