Daviot Guest House

My husband and I recently stayed at the Daviot House for one night on an anniversary trip and had a lovely time! Check-in and check-out were quite friendly, our room and private bathroom were clean and well-appointed. The notebook in our room with suggestions on places to eat dinner was very helpful, and we walked over to The Bistro, where we enjoyed a delicious meal. Afterwards, we walked to the seashore to walk on the beach for a bit. It was quite lovely. In the morning, the breakfast prepared for us was just what we needed for the day of travel ahead of us. Sitting at the breakfast table with another couple who had stayed the night was delightful, and we loved meeting and getting to know them a bit during our meal. We had a wonderful, brief stay in Ayr and enjoyed the Daviot House very much. Thank you for the great hospitality!

This is a first class guest house. The location is perfect and the owner takes a pride in delivering a very high standard of service. The bedroom and shower room had everything and the breakfast was excellent, in fact better than in some expensive hotels in our experience. We will go there again.

It’s tempting to not write a review (just so when I next stay I’m not priced out or the place gets so booked up I can’t book in my next visit). But it is a guest house with owners who run their business with a passion and you can tell how Linda puts their heart and soul into making each guest feel welcome with immaculate presentation and friendliness. It is lovely how they share the variety of books they’ve read with the guests. Definitely recommend this place and their yummy breakfast. It is also situated in a decent distance from the beach, restaurants/shops, main street and walkable (with light luggage) from the station. Although I’m certain there was a bus that stops not far from it if required. Loved the cute pictures with the Scottish themes.

Very clean and cozy room. Had everything you need and nice toiletries in the bathroom. Sadly I had to leave early morning so couldn’t try the breakfast but I’m sure it was great x I was tired on my arrival and it was so wet, but Linda was really helpful as I had my little dog! Will definitely go back and have breakfast then x
