Touring and tent pitches with direct access to Bala Lake's shore
About Glanllyn Lakeside Caravan and Camping Park
Glanllyn's real selling point is lakefront access that goes beyond a nice view - a footpath hugs the southern shore of Llyn Tegid into Bala town, while boat launching and fishing rights mean you can actually get out on the water rather than just admire it from the bank. Wild swimmers love the direct entry, and there's a good spread of pitch types: hardstanding and grass options for touring caravans and motorhomes (all with 16-amp hook-up), separate tent fields, and small campervan pitches with or without electric depending on what you need.
The biomass-heated facilities deliver free hot showers around the clock, plus an on-site shop, laundry, motorhome service point and EV charging. A children's play area and dedicated dog-walking zone sit away from the main pitching areas. The park keeps things resolutely family-oriented - stag and hen parties aren't welcome - and grass pitches for caravans max out at seven nights during peak times, so there's regular turnover. If your holiday revolves around being on or in Bala Lake rather than simply beside it, this is the obvious base.

What visitors say
We had an amazing stay at Glanllyn Lakeside Caravan & Camping Park. We stayed in our tent with electric hook-up together with our 3 kids and our lovely dog, and we had such a relaxing and enjoyable family getaway. The location is absolutely beautiful with stunning lake and mountain views all around. The campsite was clean, peaceful, and very well maintained, and the staff were always friendly and helpful. One thing we really loved was how dog friendly the site is. Dogs are made to feel very welcome, and there is even a separate secure fenced field where we could let our dog run around safely off the lead. It was perfect, especially as it is located right next to the kids’ playground, making it ideal for families with both children and dogs. The atmosphere around the park was fantastic and it’s a great base for exploring Bala and Snowdonia. Our children loved the playground and all the outdoor space, and we all really enjoyed being surrounded by nature. We stayed for 3 nights and honestly wished we could stay longer. Highly recommend this campsite to anyone looking for a peaceful, family-friendly and dog-friendly getaway in Wales — we will definitely be coming back!

What a lovely campsite. We stayed here for three nights in April on a pitch close to the lake with fantastic lake views. A large shower block was clean and the showers were excellent. The site is popular for water sports enthusiasts and had a great atmosphere. Bala was about an hour’s walk and a short bus ride took you to the Bala lake narrow gauge railway. The site owners were very friendly and kept the large site in great condition.

Really surprised what a lovley campsite. Its spacious! Although it was busy there is lots of room between pitches. On the shores of Bala! Also a haven for fishing. Kids can enjoy the freedom of actually playing! Will definitely come back here! Dogs also welcome.
