Wagglehead Cottage

Aboyne is a village on Royal Deeside in Aberdeenshire, known for its Highland Games and riverside location. Wagglehead Cottage sits just outside it, close enough to walk to The Boat Inn but far enough into the countryside that the Cairngorms National Park edge is barely a mile away. The cottage was fully renovated in 2025 and holds two bedrooms and one bathroom across two floors, sleeping three guests.

Downstairs is an open-plan living, kitchen and dining space with a woodburner for warmth on quieter evenings. The ground floor also contains a kingsize bedroom and a shower room with a heated towel rail. Upstairs, a ¾ double bedroom and additional open space offer flexibility—use it as a study, storage, or just somewhere to retreat. An electric oven and induction hob in the kitchen mean you can cook properly; essentials like heating, electricity, bed linen, towels and wifi are all covered, plus initial fuel for the woodburner. Parking for two cars is on site. Smoking is not permitted. The cottage suits adults and older teenagers; children under 14 are not accommodated.

From here, forest trails and hill walks are on the doorstep, and distilleries, castles and other attractions across Royal Deeside are within easy reach. In winter, the Cairngorms draw skiers and snowsports enthusiasts.
