About The Gordon Guest House

The Gordon Guest House occupies a Victorian townhouse on Station Square, built in 1868 as a bank manager's residence and converted into a five-room guest house that holds a four-star guest house accreditation. Each of its en-suite rooms has been individually designed, with super-king beds, smart televisions and sofas, alongside complimentary Wi-Fi throughout.

Its position on Station Square puts it within a minute or two of Ballater's old railway station, museum and the main run of village shops and cafés, making it one of the most central places to base a car-free stay. Guest reviews consistently highlight the breakfast and the individual attention given by the owners.

The guest house holds a valid short-term let licence and operates seasonal offers over the quieter autumn and winter months, making it a practical option for anyone visiting Ballater outside the busy summer season as well as during it.

Our favorite accommodation during our UK trip. Very clean, comfortable beds, great location, easy and free parking, reliable and fast wifi and most of all, Beth and Steven are superb hosts. Highly recommended.

Wonderful bed and breakfast. The rooms are spacious and clean, with well stocked amenities. The house is centrally located in Ballater which has plenty of good food options and parking as well. The hosts were exceptionally friendly and helpful. They provided good tips for the local area and have a treasure trove of knowledge and books to share! They gave us an amazing impression of Scottish hospitality and we ended up chatting with them for a long time. The breakfast option was also a highlight. The portions were massive and everything was very tasty. They also give you a small discount on your room if you don't want to eat breakfast, but I wouldn't miss it honestly. One of the best breakfast options in our stay in Scotland. Overall I would highly recommend this place for anyone looking to stay in the area. Excellent base to operate from for the Cairngorms national park!

My favorite place to stay in this part of Scotland! Beth is so hospitable and helpful. The details at this bed and breakfast are outstanding! The breakfasts were amazing too. We could have stayed much longer! A very warm and inviting place to stay.

Wonderful! That sums up our 3 nights stay at the Gordon. First up, Beth & Steve create a genuine, friendly welcome and atmosphere. They have clearly thought about the whole guest experience with some lovely touches (the folder in the room giving relevant and useful information about Ballater also tells you about the house, the artwork on the walls, the books you can borrow from the bookcase, their history and Steve's two lovely Morris cars!). The breakfast was delicious (good choice of dishes available, featuring lots of local produce), the room a really good size, clean and comfortable with cracking views from two sides. You wont be disappointed!
