About Cairngorm Bothies

Deep in centuries-old Blelack Forest on a remote Highland estate, these eco-friendly wooden bothies offer a genuinely off-grid escape – though 4G is there if you can't quite switch off completely. Each sustainably built cabin has a choice of bed sizes, spacious living area with dining table, well-equipped mini-kitchen and bathroom with walk-in shower and heated towel rails. Wood-burning stoves provide heating (logs included from the forest), with solar power topping up the energy supply whenever possible.

Step outside onto your private decking – barbecues provided – and you're immersed in pine forest alive with red squirrels, deer, buzzards and kestrels. Forest trails wind through the estate, perfect for walkers and dogs (welcome year-round). Despite the seclusion, you're only 15 minutes from Aboyne for supplies, 10 minutes from golf courses, and within reach of salmon fishing on the Dee and winter skiing in the Cairngorms.

5 Stars! These cabins are amazing. For someone who loves wood burning stoves and being in the outdoors, this honestly feels like heaven. I'm sitting on the deck writing this with the sound of cuckoos and other birds all around. It's magic. Couldn't recommend it high enough.

We had an amazing time here, spent valentine's day here and they did up the bothy very romantic. The forest around is very peaceful, and nice to walk around. The night sky was incredible when the sky is clear. I'd love to come back someday.

We had the most amazing weekend at Cairngorm Bothies! The location is absolutely stunning – so peaceful and beautiful. Inside, the bothy was spotless, and we loved how it was decorated. It just had a really great, cozy vibe. The owners were super friendly, which made the whole experience even better. We'd 100% recommend it and will definitely be back.
