Riverside hard-standing pitches three miles from the city centre

About Bath Marina and Caravan Park

Bath Marina and Caravan Park sits beside the Avon at Newbridge, around three miles west of the city centre, making it the closest full-facility park to Bath itself. The site offers 88 concrete hard-standing pitches ranging from economy to larger woodland-edge plots, accommodating everything from tents to American RVs. Every pitch includes 16-amp electric hook-up, TV connection and wi-fi – unusual for a park of this size. The riverside towpath runs flat into the centre in about an hour on foot or twenty minutes by bike, while the nearby Newbridge park and ride offers a quicker bus option, meaning you can leave the vehicle on pitch for the duration of a city break – a real asset where central parking is scarce and expensive.

On site you'll find heated showers, laundry, a small food shop, children's play area and dog walks along the water. Pitches are spacious and hot water plentiful, though facilities can feel a little tired in places. Expect a working marina atmosphere rather than rural tranquillity, with some boat movement and background road noise. Open year-round, it's popular for Bath city breaks and West Country touring, so booking ahead is wise in summer and during the Christmas Market period.

We use the site regularly and have to wonder are they going to invest any of their massive profit anytime soon!!?? We love the site but the shower and toilet blocks should be closed and demolished on health grounds! Reception staff are friendly and they keep the grass cut nicely but thats as far as it gets. 2 vending machines are empty, water points are shabby and dirty but there is electricity. We won't be returning until they stop the greed and invest in the infrastructure!

A great location next to the river and within walking distance to a lovely pub and the bus stop to the city centre. The out of hours check in was seamless and our pitch in the "carousel" provided good shade. I was fearing the worst when I read the reviews about the toilet blocks, whilst they may be a bit tired and need a refresh, they were perfectly functional. We would certainly return.

Have just returned from a wonderful 3 night stay with friends. Fiona on the welcome desk was amazing, super friendly and remembered it was my husbands birthday. However the big standout was we mentioned that it was disappointing to see able bodied people using the disabled facilities as they offered more privacy. This did mean we had to queue and wait to shower our son (we only managed to use the facility once over the 3 days) We returned to receive an email from Fiona, informing us they are changing their access to the disabled facilities to ensure this does not happen in the future and that people who need it can have access. Absolutely superstar Fiona.
