About Lansdown Campsite

Looking for a peaceful spot that's handy for the historic sights of Bath? Off-grid Lansdown Campsite is set on a family farm in stunning countryside atop Lansdown Hill, making it one of the closest sites to the city centre yet far enough away to be unaffected by its buzz. It's also a clever choice if you're weekending from London or Wales, as the site is only 15 minutes' drive from Junction 18 of the M4, with easy access from the A46 and A420, just outside Bath's Clean Air Zone.

Pitches are clean and spacious, with well-maintained showers and toilets that earn consistent praise. The on-site hot tub, sauna and barbecue hut add a touch of indulgence after days exploring Bath and the Cotswolds, while the communal firepit (free with purchase of logs) or personal firepits available for hire make for cosy evenings under the stars. Dogs are more than welcome to stroll the farm fields on lead, and the attentive management ensures everything runs smoothly.

The real clincher? The site sits directly opposite Lansdown Park and Ride, with Service 31 whisking you into Bath city centre every 15 minutes—so you can abandon the car for the duration of your stay. Bath Racecourse, a couple of foodie pubs, and walks along the Cotswold Way and around Beckford's Tower are all within easy reach.

Simple camp site, lots of space. Right by the park and ride into Bath. Toilets probably a little small for the number of pitches, but was fine and clean when I was there at a less busy time. Has a quiet time from 10pm to 8 am, so is peaceful when the road into/out of Bath quietens down.

Lovely, quiet little site. The proximity to the Park and Ride is amazing, and means you can have a day/night out in Bath and be dropped back to your tent until quite late. Communication with owners was good, and the code system to get in was simple. The option of a later checkout when quiet would be nice, for those who have to pack up a tent. It would make the last morning more relaxing.

We had a lovely stay in our campervan at Lansdown Campsite. Wonderfully convenient for visiting Bath on the bus across the street. Clean shower rooms with plenty of toilets. Very quiet and peaceful.

Stayed here recently and had a lovely time, owner (John) is very helpful and informative and has a lovely dog. Loads of space and a lovely fire pit with logs to sit on, great location and facilities are well maintained and warm showers are a lifesaver in the morning. It can get a bit windy so make sure you pack some jumpers, overall a very lovely experience. Very close to the city and to nature so will work for either type of trip. Wishing this family run business the best and thank you for having us.
