What visitors say
Great day out, probably too much for one day. Very interesting, lots of information boards and staff on hand to answer questions. Lovely walks in between the different areas. Trams or buses always running if you don't want to walk. Food and drinks available throughout the site and toilets. Dog friendly outside and in a few of the buildings. There is a tour of the drift mine, don't think dogs can go on that. Really nice traditional carousel and shelter skelter. There is a charge for the funfair rides.

Still an absolutely amazing place after my 1st time visit in the 1970s.The staff from the car park, to entrance staff, mobility buggy staff, re enactment staff and volunteers were amazingly welcoming, friendly, knowledgeable and a pleasure to meet. The buildings and props were excellent, brought back memories. There is a working Bakery, sweet shop, pub and two chip shops, the latest addition is the 1950s section. This is very well done also. My wife, mother in law and I had a fantastic 2 days, we highly recommend it and even more if you are proud of your Heritage. Disabled customers are very well catered for.

Wife and I took our grandkids on a Saturday arriving at around 1130am where we went straight to the fish and chip building. Queued here for at least an hour before being served, options literally are fish and chips and no allergy options. However they were absolutely amazing! We only visited a small portion of the site including the farm and sweet shop. So will definitely go back with our year long validated tickets. It was also vintage transport week so we were treated with a host of different vehicles. If you go, and it's busy, be prepared to have patience as there's a lot of queuing .. from the already mentioned chip shop to the trams and sweet shops .. all worth the wait though.
