About The Beamish Park Hotel

An indoor swimming pool is an unusual find at a hotel this close to Beamish Open Air Museum, and The Beamish Park Hotel makes it one of its main draws alongside a gym and garden grounds. Set on Beamish Burn Road in Tyne and Wear, it has 42 rooms and works well as a base for exploring the museum and the wider Newcastle upon Tyne area, with free on-site parking taking the hassle out of arriving by car.

Rooms come with air conditioning, drinks and the usual comforts, kept clean and comfortable throughout, and the hotel adds practical extras such as a lift, luggage storage and porter services. The restaurant and bar are a genuine highlight, with a kitchen known for its Sunday lunches and breakfasts cooked to order, backed up by staff who are consistently friendly and attentive. Free WiFi and meeting rooms make it equally suited to business stays, while the wedding venue facilities extend its use for events.

Beyond the hotel, pubs, restaurants and entertainment are all within easy reach, and pets are welcome for those travelling with animals. It is, above all, a straightforward and well-run base for a visit to Beamish Museum, with the pool and gym a welcome bonus after a day out.

A really nice place to stay for a few days. Hotel is clean and appears to be well maintained. Set over Two floors, (can only comment on our room) rooms are a good size, beds are comfortable with a good size shower room. Staff are very friendly and helpful. Food is of a very good quality, well cooked and always hot. There is a Golf course attached to the hotel with reasonable fees if you like to play. Close to Beamish Museum.

Fantastic hotel and a great resteraunt. The par 3 golf course and the driving range are an added bonus. My only negative comment would be the tee mats on the course have not been replaced in years and many of them are unusable. With the courses popularity with locals and hotel guests, I think investing in some new tee mats would go a long way.

We stayed for 2 nights for daughter’s wedding. Absolutely lovely place. Great staff, they were amazing at reception, bar, restaurant and the wedding. Love the fact our doggy was welcome even for food 😁 🐶 Rooms were dated but that’s fine especially with doggy rooms, bowls and dog bed provided.

Although we didn't stay at the hotel we did visit as a family of 6 (and 2 dogs) for an evening meal. We all had two courses each and the food was absolutely exceptional! Very generous portion sizes and excellent quality, fresh food. Very reasonably priced menu with 5* food. All staff were outstanding and so welcoming. Very welcoming of our two cockapoos too - which was hugely appreciated.
