Disappointed that the pitches were so close together and we were put on a slope with a motorhome. Club house was canny, lovely staff, nice and modern and serviced food which was very tasty. Prices were reasonable. Shower and toilet block very clean and warm. We won’t return due to the fact you were on top of each other and screaming and screeching children, until 11 along with having to listen to bad language from the adults

Just returned from our first time visit here We went with our 8m tourer and found getting to the site is a little awkward with only 1 out of 3 routes suitable for caravans (come from the north of the site junction 68 A1M is the best route when towing) Once there staff are welcoming and direct you to your pitch on the map however we had booked on as having a awning and was put in a narrow pitch halfway down a hill with no room to put the awning up, the pitch was level but the ground very much a steep hill with very narrow road witch caused us some slight clearence issues getting on/off the pitch with our setup noted for the future, (not all the pitches were this bad) we was also behind the park so through out the day/evening the sounds if loud children playing are a constant but hey its a family campsite its to be expected. The facilities were very good with plenty of showers/toilets available in showered later in the evening on both nights and found them to still be clean and a good shower no temp control but set around were they should be so all good. The club house is good with games and such each night enjoyed by all of us and the pizzas went down a treat. All in all its not a quiet weekend but a good family spot with entertainment, will be mindfull when booking again that some pitches are not really suitable for our caravan/awning and will request a better suited pitch next time but we will return.

We made the mistake of staying during bank holiday and the whole site was overrun with screaming kids until 11 at night. The play area is on the centre of the site, so there is really nowhere to get out of earshot. Although the pitches are level, they are small and tightly packed in, making manoeuvring in and out quite tricky. The whole site is on a hill with a one-way system which works well. Showers & toilets are cleaned regularly by friendly & helpful staff, but these, and the washing up area, are often left in a less than ideal state by customers. I cannot comment on the static part of the site.

Just got back from a 2 night stay in my caravan for the first trip alone with the kids. My sister was in her motorhome again alone with her kids. On booking we asked to be next to one another which we understand can’t always be promised. On arrival we reiterated we wanted to be next to one another but were told that was not possible & we were on other sides of the site. There was a spare pitch next to me for our whole stay that she could have had so we complained on departure but reception weren’t bothered. We also had to endure the night from hell with a large group booking in a tent next to us with an extremely drunk group blaring music out of their cars & blowing up cans on the pitch. They approached our caravan to which we ignored them. The party went on all night long with cigarette butts everywhere & plenty of sick on the pitch & in the facilities. Constant revving from their cars & fighting, arguing & swearing (which my kids heard) . No security to be seen for our whole visit. A poor girl was in the tent next to them again alone with her children she must have been absolutely petrified. More work should be done to ensure women feel safe on site, if I’d have been next to my sister as requested at the start I would have felt safer. I didn’t leave my caravan all evening until they left in the morning. The site is extremely small & very tight throughout & very hilly. We struggled to use a table on both our pitches outside due to how un flat the pitches are. The pitches are literally sat on top of one another The tents are a meter or 2 apart there is zero privacy. The toilet waste is literally a hole in the ground next to the playground outside 🤢 & the bins are disguising. I would never return to this site & would say this is the worst site I have ever visited which is a shame as we chose it for a day out at Beamish which was the highlight of our stay. Do better! It’s the little things that go a long way
