Adults-only guest accommodation in a Victorian townhouse on University Avenue, Belfast, close to Queen's Quarter's bars and restaurants.

About Big Yellow Door in Queens Quarter

Big Yellow Door in Queens Quarter occupies a townhouse of the sort that lines University Avenue, with the kind of period character that comes from high ceilings and a traditional façade rather than anything modern or purpose-built. It's an adults-only guesthouse, which sets a quieter tone than a typical city hotel, and the garden and outdoor seating give guests somewhere to sit outside that most Belfast accommodation of this size can't offer.

Rooms come with en-suite bathrooms and drinks provided, and breakfast is included to start the day. Free WiFi runs throughout, and practical extras such as 24 hour reception, luggage storage and a laundry service are all on hand. Free on-site parking is a genuine plus in this part of the city, where street parking can be harder to come by.

The area around Queen's Quarter has plenty within easy reach, including pubs, bars, restaurants and other eateries, along with entertainment options and a nearby golf course for those who fancy it. Castle Court Shopping Centre is also within reach for anyone wanting to shop. Feedback on the property is mixed rather than uniformly glowing, so it suits guests looking for a straightforward, well-located base rather than a polished luxury stay.

Great little place to stay. Check in is simple, you just get sent the door code, your room no. and the code of the lockbox with your key on in via Booking.com message. Very reasonably priced given the location with convenient public transport links & shops nearby. The free breakfast (cereal & bread for toast) is a bonus too. Will definitely stay again.

Lovely, light-filled, spacious top-floor bedroom with plenty of room for hanging clothes. Warm and comfortable as well. In addition to this is a well-equipped kitchen and additional lounge space to relax in. Free breakfast and wifi throughout the house. Terrific location with free parking outside, access to local bus service as well as a nearby Thai restaurant & a local bakery/cafe within walking distance.

The location is bit out of town centre, but it's ok, easy to find. The room was ok, clean and quiet although bed was not so comfortable. The shower was terrible, dirty and not powerful enough to wash your hair unless you've got shaved or no hair. Messy kitchen, dirty towels everywhere. It was ok to stay for one night for me to avoid expensive hotels but I won't recommend to anybody.

Hostel set up but good place. Room is perfect for two persons . Have to use the stairs so those who can’t climb will be difficult. Ground floor is kitchen and living room . The location is little bit tricky . Look for the yellow door. If your looking for parking come early because late night parking will be packed .
