About OYO Queens Quarter

Breakfast is included at OYO Queens Quarter, a straightforward option on University Street in Belfast, and guests also get drinks available in the room, useful for settling in after a day out without heading straight back out for supplies. The surrounding Queen's Quarter area has no shortage of places to eat and drink, with pubs, restaurants and eateries all within easy reach for evenings when guests fancy a change of scene.

Rooms are simple and self-catered in style, with en-suite bathrooms and family rooms available for those travelling with children, plus free WiFi throughout, which has been noted as reliably good. The hotel operates on a self-service basis, which keeps things low-cost and works well for short, no-fuss stays, though it's worth knowing that check-in has occasionally proved tricky and room upkeep can be inconsistent.

Location is a strong point: Botanic is under half a mile away, Castle Court Shopping Centre is a short trip for anyone wanting a shopping stop, and there's a golf course and other entertainment nearby for those wanting to fill their time beyond the city centre. It's a fair fit for anyone after a budget base in Belfast rather than a polished stay.

I would strongly advise against booking this accommodation, as you may find yourself with nowhere to stay. I booked this property on 10 June. However, when I arrived, I found a notice on the door stating that check-in instructions had been sent by email. Unfortunately, I never received any such email. I repeatedly called the mobile number provided on the notice, but no one answered. As a result, I was unable to access the property and had no choice but to find and pay for alternative accommodation elsewhere. Despite explaining the situation and requesting a refund, my claim was refused. I find this particularly disappointing as the issue was caused by the property's failure to provide the necessary check-in information and the lack of any support when I needed assistance. Not only was I left without accommodation on arrival, but I also received neither an apology nor a refund. Based on this experience, I would not book this accommodation again and cannot recommend it to others.

A decent quality, and reasonably priced hotel, it is a self service Hotel though, so make sure you get your entrance code sorted before you arrive. Bed was comfy enough, and room was clean. My only gripe would be that there was absolutely nowhere in the bathroom to hang a towel.

The place although incredibly basic, is very clean. The bedside lamps didn't work and there were only 2 hangers. When I rang the number given with my query ( that it was cold!) the heating was turned on remotely immediately.. Great for an overnight stay

This was a cheaper option and you definitely get what you pay for. Bed sheets were clean, room was otherwise kinda grim. Shower was not good. Didn’t use the shared kitchen as we wanted to minimise our time here. If you’re between this and somewhere a little bit more expensive, I’d spend the extra money for a proper hotel unless you’re really skint.

This self-service hotel is considered a decent and reasonably priced option for short stays, with reviewers noting good WiFi and security.

Other reviews mention check-in can be difficult and rooms can be poorly maintained.
