What diners say
Going to list the Pros then the cons. Pros: the vibe was really good. It was very loud because of large groups so we asked to be moved to a quieter table which was great. The food was yummy! Really really good. Portion size was good. Staff were attentive and very nice. Cons: took a while to find the entrance, when I arrived multiple people where outside trying to figure it out. If multiple people are having the same issue then there’s clearly a problem. Had to call them on the phone then was guided. I feel like this is easily sorted with some signage. I HATED how large and ostentatious the physical menu was. Was annoying on a small table. Found inside quite cold. The plates that the food are served on are too small (specially the roast chicken)

BISTROTHEQUE, wow, what a restaurant. Some of the best food we’ve had in London. From the moment we started, the semolina sourdough with garlic butter and hot honey was outstanding. The garlic butter and hot honey together were like water in the desert. This dish alone stands out in a city that often leans toward safe, unadventurous palates. The twice-baked soufflé with truffled brie, honey and walnuts was smooth, rich and beautifully balanced. The steak tartare was spot on. Quintessentially French and executed perfectly. Then came the miso butter braised leeks with hazelnuts. Holy moly. This dish was incredible. Extremely well thought out and a perfect culmination of taste and texture. Sweet, sour, salty, umami and smoky. Smooth, creamy and crunchy all at once. And finally the pièce de résistance: the spicy lobster and ’nduja lasagne. Words almost fail here. Served like a pie with a crispy top layer, the pasta, lobster and ’nduja sauce came together in absolute perfection.

We had a dinner party facilitated by David’s amazing team (Vy, Julio, and their amazing chef) The first time we solicited professionals for an elevated experience and unsure if the costs would merit. Suffice to say, we were BLOWN away by Bistrotheques food, service and exceptional vision. They curated an entire *experience*, from canapés, to drinks to mains and dessert. Every guest left with glowing reviews. If you’re looking for a premium experience then I recommend these fine people heartily. It’s worth an investment if you truly want something memorable.

We stopped by on a Tuesday night and even though it was busy the service was incredible. The food was much better than expected and would 100% recommend the Parmesan crisps and the burger. All dishes served beautifully and made for sharing!
