What visitors say
Had a few hours spare and was in the area so thought we would nip in here to watch a film. Prices for tickets wasnt too bad as was a week day but I shouldn't have picked a long film. Seats here are well uncomfortable and doesn't help the cinema was very cold. They need to put some heating on. The corridors here are very old-school looking and need a bit of a character as well but the place was clean.

As a wheelchair user, I deserve to know that the places I visit are genuinely safe and accessible. This is my local Odeon and the only cinema I can get to without having to take multiple buses, so when the accessibility equipment fails, it has a huge impact on me. The wheelchair lift broke down while I was using it. It was terrifying. Thankfully, I have a powered wheelchair that helped me get out, but if I had been using a manual wheelchair or a different mobility aid, I could have been left stranded. That should never happen. The lift is outdated and, in my opinion, it needs replacing, not patching up. Disabled people shouldn’t have to rely on old equipment that can fail while we’re using it. While non disabled people can simply use the stairs if there’s a problem, wheelchair users don’t have that option. We deserve the same confidence that we can enter and leave a building safely. The experience triggered my anxiety, and I haven’t been able to use a lift comfortably since because I’m constantly worried it will happen again. Accessibility isn’t an extra feature, it’s a necessity. No one should have to risk their safety just to watch a film. I urge Odeon to replace this lift with a modern, reliable one so wheelchair users can visit without fear.

This place practically oozes mid 90s. The smell, the slightly run down corridors, the chipped paints and misaligned door handles. Actual viewing experience is good and has most amenities modern cinema viewers would expect. Decent prices too, and lovely staff

I went to watch a film at the Odeon .ew Street yesterday, and I have to say I was really disappointed. In my opinion, the cinema feels very outdated. The screen was much smaller than those at other cinemas I've visited, and the picture quality wasn't particularly impressive either. It honestly felt like stepping back into the early 2000s—and not in a good way. The auditorium also looked dated, and the seats were uncomfortable. Another major downside was the seating layout. The rows don't seem to be staggered or elevated enough, so your view can easily be blocked by the person sitting in front of you. Overall, I wouldn't choose to watch another film here. I hadn't visited this cinema in decades, and after this experience, I won't be rushing back. Thankfully, I only paid £5 for my ticket, but even at that price, I don't think it offered good value for money.
