About Premier Inn Birmingham City Centre New St Station

Birmingham city centre is built for easy arrivals, with New Street station and the Bullring shopping centre only a short walk away, and Premier Inn Birmingham City Centre New St Station puts guests right in the middle of it. Housed across eight floors within the Exchange Buildings, the 140-room hotel suits both a quick overnight stop and a longer city break, with chargeable parking available nearby for anyone not travelling by train.

Rooms are air-conditioned and en-suite, kept comfortable and quiet, with drinks available in room and free WiFi throughout, though some guests have found the connection patchy at busy times. A restaurant and bar on site cover breakfast and evening meals, with breakfast in particular offering a good spread of options, and staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful. A lift serves all floors and accessible rooms are available, alongside 24-hour reception and an electric vehicle charge point.

Beyond the hotel, the ICC and Utilita Arena Birmingham are both within easy reach, and the surrounding streets are packed with pubs, restaurants and eateries for evenings out. For a city-centre base geared around convenience rather than frills, it delivers reliably on the essentials.

What you would expect from a premier inn The location couldn't be anyore ideal and the price was fair considering we only booked a week before. We did pay slightly more for an upgraded room with mini fridge and coffee machine, glad we did- the former was well received in the hot weather! The room was a bit rough around the edges though, paint chipping off, fake leather peeling from chairs and the blackboard of the bed. Stains on carpets and dust on surfaces. Was sad that there were no decaf coffee pods for the machine. Staff were really lovely though and were kind to get decaff tea and extra milk as required. Breakfast was fresh and good quality and the later check out (12midday) was welcomed. All in all would stay again!

I’ve been staying here since it first opened in 2014. Rooms have been upgraded, very comfortable with air conditioning. I also find the hotel is well insulated from noise so got a good nights sleep. It’s very convenient for the main bullring shopping centre, and train station and a few minutes walk to the gay village. The hotel is close to local shops in new street, I case you need anything. I took the breakfast this morning and feel it could have been hotter, I’ll probably go out for breakfast when I stay next time.

Stayed in this hotel with my partner for 3 days. The hotel is in the middle of the center so you have anything you want and need nearby which is a plus. Keep in mind if you travel by car that parking around is very expensive £20+ per 24 hours. The room was fine except for curtains that need fixing, a hairdryer that is pretty much useless and toilet paper that is way to thin. After mentioning this to reception they said better quality toilet paper is giving to people that book the most expensive rooms. We were only givin 1 set towels so we had to go ask for another set and we had to change them daily ourselves. They key cards turn orange pretty fast so that could be a thing to consider to make that system better. Breakfast we didn't have so we cannot review this. The staff was helpful and the hotel seems busy yet organized. It is a good place to stay if youre traveling for just a few days and the walk in shower is very nice!

Good location. Big room. But Room No. 619 has (a) Bathroom sink tap sprays water all over and (b) Trash can lid is not open when you step on opening paddle. Please fix them. Also, no direction sign to hotel from parking of Grand Central Carpark.
