About Holiday Inn Birmingham City Centre

This Holiday Inn sits on Smallbrook Queensway, one of the main routes into the city centre, putting it within ten minutes' walk of New Street station, the Bullring and the restaurants and bars of the Arcadian and Chinese Quarter.

Rooms follow the reliable Holiday Inn template, comfortable and well maintained rather than characterful, with an on-site restaurant, bar and small gym. It is a straightforward, well-located choice for visitors who prioritise ease of access over boutique styling.

The hotel's price point and central position make it a popular choice for both business travellers and families visiting the Bullring and NIA/Utilita Arena.

I had a wonderful stay at Holiday Inn Birmingham. Check-in date: 24 July Check-out date: 25 July I would like to express my sincere appreciation to Hareena, Rashad, and their manager, Jeannie, for their outstanding customer service at the front desk. They were all warm, welcoming, professional, and genuinely helpful throughout my stay. They made me feel valued as a guest, and their positive attitude left a lasting impression. I would also like to compliment the housekeeping team. My room was spotless, well-organised, and very comfortable. The cleanliness of both my room and the hotel floor was excellent, showing great attention to detail. Overall, I had a fantastic experience. The excellent service from both the front desk and housekeeping teams made my stay even more enjoyable. Thank you to everyone for your hard work and dedication. I would definitely stay here again and highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Birmingham. Please pass on my thanks and recognition to Hareena, Rashad, Jeannie, and the housekeeping team. They are a real credit to your hotel.

I was disappointed with this stay. The official photos on Expedia look much newer and more modern than the actual room I received. As soon as I entered the room, there was a noticeable unpleasant smell. The room felt dated, with visible wear on the door frame, walls, and carpet. There was no air conditioning, only a standing fan, which made the room uncomfortable during warm weather. The hotel was also noisy at night due to its location. Another concern was security. Unlike many other Holiday Inn properties I’ve stayed at, the guest floors could be accessed without using a room key, which made me feel less secure as a solo traveler. The check-in experience was also disappointing. Although my reservation had already been prepaid through Expedia, I was still asked to pay again at the front desk. It was eventually sorted out, but it made the check-in slower than necessary and suggested that my booking details had not been checked carefully. The only real positive was having a mini fridge in the room. I’ve stayed at many Holiday Inn properties across North America, and this hotel was well below the standard I normally expect from the Holiday Inn brand. I would recommend checking recent guest photos rather than relying solely on the official listing.

Lovely hotel with nice staff, comfortable rooms. We stayed for one night and enjoyed our stay mostly. Staff were lovely on arrival and room was ready. We rested in the room for a few hours before going out, then returning just before the restaurant closed. There was a lovely staff member who allowed us to order, unfortunately the pizza and chips was not very nice, but very fast service. We enjoyed a nice sleep in the room but we woke up to a lot of noise in the hallway from other guests and cleaners. We went to breakfast, we didnt quite enjoy the food, the food was mostly cold and had been there for some time along with discoloured scrambled egg. I then made some jam on toast which was very nice. Staff were very nice for the most part but they took a while to clean a table for us. We then went back to the room where we packed and left slightly late and cleaners were knocking the door asking if we were checking out late. We spoke to a friendly cleaner and then left. Easy check out and all round good stay, would not be too willing to return for breakfast. Also make sure to bring your own toothpaste, they said they sold it but had ran out.

Brilliantly located, just next to the train station and short walks away from all of music venues. The staff are so lovely and kind. The hotel is very nice inside and has a cafe/bar situation inside too which would be nice for studying in! My room was immaculate and had a lot of natural light (two double beds). No noise pollution despite being right by a busy road! Very lovely stay!
