What diners say
Best Afternoon Tea I’ve had in a long time. So cheap in comparison to other places (30pp) and with a LOT more food. Loved it, would (and will) come back, would recommend. Great service too, fast and attentive. Thanks to Aravinal Arelli!

City lounge is exactly what you'd expect from an international chain restaurant's lobby bar: it's like a paid lounge in an airport. The staff are attentive, the drinks are slightly overpriced and the atmosphere is very "airport lounge". Note that this is the only bar open at the Hyatt before 5pm. I'd personally choose somewhere else, but it's an entirely functional choice if you're in the area and don't want to go to a more traditional pub. If you're visiting London, I'd probably do yourself a favour and head to a pub, or if you'd prefer a bar, head towards either covent garden to the west, Shoreditch to the east or south bank over the river.

This is a lounge/bar inside the Hyatt at Blackfriars in London. The bartenders do not know what to do if you ask for a drink that isn't on the menu. I asked for a glass of rosé and the bartender poured a glass of champagne. My husband ordered a vodka martini (straight up, no vermouth, small lemon twist) from the other bartender and the bartender looked like a deer caught in the headlights and said, "But that's not on the menu." Even after carefully explaining to him how to make the martini, it came over warm with half a lemon squeezed into the vodka. Our friend asked for a gin and tonic with a lime, and it came over with a can of soda and a lemon. A few minutes later, we witnessed a gentleman approach the bar and order white wine. The bartender pulled out an open bottle, poured it, the gentleman took a sip, came THISclose to spitting it out, and asked for a new bottle, saying something about the previously opened bottle being opened too long. Definitely not a bar that lives up to the Hyatt brand. Stay away and spend your time at one of the many local pubs.
