River Annexe - Little Heron
Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole
Photo: Google Maps
Christchurch sits where two rivers meet, with the Jurassic Coastline starting just a few miles south and the New Forest spreading inland. River Annexe – Little Heron is a ground-floor annexe in this setting, a single bedroom place that sleeps two, private to you and your dog. Everything is on one level: a living room with kitchen, a bedroom with kingsize bed, and an ensuite with walk-in shower. The kitchen has a full electric cooker, dishwasher and coffee machine; the essentials like heating, electricity, wifi and bed linen are included.
The property opens onto a back garden with seating and furniture, and there is parking for one car. The grounds include an unfenced river, which matters if you're bringing children. Smoking is not permitted. From here, Christchurch's priory, independent shops, pubs and restaurants are walkable, and the quay has waterside dining and a ferry across to Mudeford. Mudeford Quay itself is busy with sailors, kayakers and windsurfers, or you can simply walk the seafront. The beach is three miles away. Further out, the New Forest has villages to explore and free-roaming ponies, donkeys and cattle. River fishing is available locally, and electric scooter hire too.
