About Bournemouth West Cliff Hotel
Bournemouth's West Cliff area is a short stretch from the town's beaches and coastal paths, and the Bournemouth West Cliff Hotel sits on Durley Chine Road within easy reach of it all. It's a straightforward base for a seaside stay, with a garden and outdoor seating adding to the appeal on fine days, and golf, fishing, cycling and watersports all nearby for those who want to get out and about.
Rooms are comfortable and come with room service and in-room drinks, along with family and accessible options and a lift for easy access. The hotel's facilities go further than most, with an indoor swimming pool, gym and spa/sauna on site, plus a restaurant and bar serving generous meals and breakfast each morning. Staff are generally helpful and attentive, though some rooms could do with better upkeep and service has occasionally fallen short of the standard set elsewhere in the hotel.
Beyond the hotel, guests have pubs, bars and restaurants within easy reach, along with entertainment options and plenty of walking country nearby. Laundry service and meeting rooms are also available, and pets are welcome, making it a flexible choice for a range of visits to the Dorset coast.

What guests say
From the moment we arrived at the Westcliff Hotel, we were made to feel genuinely valued and welcomed. Every detail of our stay exceeded expectations, and it quickly became one of the most enjoyable hotel experiences we’ve had. The rooms were absolutely beautiful—elegant, immaculately clean, incredibly comfortable, and finished to such a high standard. It truly felt like a luxury escape, with every little detail carefully thought out to make our stay relaxing and memorable. The highlight of our visit was, without a doubt, the exceptional service. Danny and Amelia deserve the highest praise for their outstanding hospitality. They were warm, professional, attentive, and genuinely caring, making us feel like VIP guests from start to finish. Their kindness, friendly conversations, and willingness to go above and beyond made all the difference and created such a welcoming atmosphere. It’s rare to come across a hotel where both the accommodation and the people are equally exceptional, but the Westcliff Hotel delivers on every level. We left feeling refreshed, cared for, and already looking forward to our next visit. A heartfelt thank you to Danny, Amelia, and the entire team for making our stay so special. We couldn’t recommend the Westcliff Hotel highly enough and will definitely be returning.

Spent a wonderful day in the spa with my mum, a special birthday treat from her to me. Our first time visiting but certainly won’t be our last! The spa was fantastic, lots of different ways to relax, very peaceful and beautifully clean. Lots of lovely little details made the whole space feel well thought out but not cluttered. The only little thing was the ladies changing space was quite small, with only one small (but fantastic!) shower, and a very small toilet cubicle! The having rooms were adequate, but only two available and we had to wait both ends of our day. The token for the lockers were an excellent thought! Fresh were towels available when needed, and only a small charge to hire a robe for the day (highly recommend doing this!). The gentleman on the front desk was great, he showed us around and explained everything. We went for lunch halfway through the day as part of our package and honestly couldn’t believe the food that was on offer, a great menu and eye generous portions! The food was freshly cooked, hot and absolutely delicious. Maya was in the restaurant and bar when we arrived ready for lunch and she was absolutely wonderful, so friendly and professional; she took on board mum’s dietary requirements, and she was very attentive without being ‘too much’ - a perfect balance. We spent another couple of hours down in the spa after lunch, as we were able to eat lunch in our bathing suits and robes! An absolutely wonderful day, we felt so relaxed afterwards - we are already planning our next visit!

We were booked in for one night whilst en-route to other accommodation and booked this hotel as it looked really nice which to be fair it was until we reached our room which was almost a box bedroom. The room had threadbare carpets, the bathroom had several issues the worst being an exposed screw head raised about 10mm on the work surface very close to the bath which could easily tear into someone’s skin, the bath mat had black mould and the bath was not clean and the shower curtain was in a terrible state ( have pictures of all issues), unfortunately we are not serial complainers and we were also under the impression that the hotel has new management and a refurbishment is due so decided to accept the situation for one night. At the end of our break in Bournemouth we decided to stay an extra night which we did in a Premier Inn and this establishment completely outshone our experience at the West Cliff and we had a much bigger room impeccably cleaner and cheaper than the West Cliff , overall the West Cliff was an expensive bed for the night and nothing more !!!

It was our first time staying at this hotel as myself and my partner used 2 Virgin experience day vouchers for the 3 nights we stayed at the hotel. As soon as we checked in the staff couldn't of been any friendlier as they answered our questions in a very friendly manner which we couldn't of asked for a better service. Everything at the hotel that you wanted was there including the spa and the swimming pool If we wanted to use the facilities. The room was spotless as everything was there for what we needed during our stay. All of the restaurant/breakfast staff were absolutely fabulous as nothing was too much trouble during our stay as the staff made you feel at ease as soon as you entered the restaurant. We absolutely loved the outside area as the seats were very comfortable alongside great views looking out of the hotel and the swimming pool. The only recommendation would be to include mushrooms and fried/pouched eggs at breakfast but other than that the breakfast we had each morning was absolutely fabulous as everything was there for you without you having to ask a member of staff but if you did need to then the staff were on hand if you needed anything. A Special mention to Bradley who was working in the restaurant as he could not of been anymore friendly as we both were very pleased with how he expressed himself during our meal at the restaurant on the first evening. Overall a fantastic first time stay at the Westcliff hotel Bournemouth as we would definitely be coming back to the hotel and would highlight recommend this hotel to anyone who wishes to stay at the hotel. 5 stars and more ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
