About Hinton Firs Hotel
An indoor swimming pool is one of the stand-out features at Hinton Firs Hotel, a 52-room property on Manor Road in Bournemouth, Dorset. The hotel keeps things relaxed rather than formal, pairing simply furnished rooms with a restaurant and bar that lean a little more upmarket, plus a spa and sauna for guests who want to unwind further.
Beyond the pool, facilities run to a games room, garden, lift access and meeting rooms, making the hotel workable for both leisure breaks and small gatherings, while wedding parties are also catered for. Breakfast is served on-site, free WiFi is available throughout, and porter services and luggage storage take care of the practical side of a stay. Pets are welcome, and free on-site parking is provided, which is useful given the hotel's residential Manor Road setting.
Bournemouth itself is under a mile away, putting the town's shops, seafront and amenities within easy reach, while the New Forest National Park offers a change of pace for anyone keen to explore further afield. Rooms are described as understated rather than luxurious, so guests after character or design flourish may find them fairly plain, but the overall package of facilities gives the hotel a broader appeal than accommodation alone.

Loved this hotel. Used to stay here every year as a kid. Was only in Bournemouth last week and was very sad to see what has come of this hotel. Completely abandoned. 😔

Sad to read some of these reviews. Had the opportunity to spend a few days here nearly 30 years ago. My sister and I took our mother to England for 10 days. Her parents were from Bath and Dorset. She had not been back since she was 2 years old. We found the hotel to be a very quaint, mid-century facility....small but comfortable. It had a wonderful dining room at the time with a great English breakfast. So glad my memories are better than the more recent reviewers I read.

Hotel very dated, staff minimal and not overly welcoming. Smallest double bed I've even seen, had to top and tale to fit in it and we are not large people. So uncomfortable hardly slept a wink. Shower pressure was awful, just a trickle and had to leave running for ages to get hot water. Didn't feel it was value for money. Only good point was lovely location for beach, shops etc. Would not visit again.

The worst hotel I’ve ever stayed at. 3 stars possibly 20 years ago, it would struggle for 1 star now. The toilet was cleaner than the shower. Pubic hair everywhere. Booked for 2 adults and 2 children but room only has a double and single bed?? Very dirty, very run down even if I was homeless I would consider other options first. Wished I had read other reviews first, but was rushed and just looked at the supplied photos. I don’t often do reviews but I couldn’t let this slide. Very disappointed. I read the owners response to other reviews justifying the conditions in relation to price and location, it looks like hospitality isn’t really your passion because this is a terrible experience and you should aim higher.

Understated rooms in a relaxed hotel with an upscale restaurant/bar, an indoor pool & a game room.
