About Laguna Hotel
Breakfast is included at the Laguna Hotel, a straightforward base for a Bournemouth stay at 6 Suffolk Road South. With 50 rooms, a garden, an indoor swimming pool and free on-site parking, it's built for guests who want the essentials sorted without paying over the odds. Staff are consistently described as friendly and helpful, and the hotel is regularly praised for offering good value for the price.
Rooms come with in-room drinks and the practical extras that make a stay easier, including free WiFi, luggage storage and a laundry service. It's worth noting that some rooms have been described as dated or in need of freshening up, and the pool isn't always kept to the highest standard, so this suits guests prioritising location and price over polish.
Pubs, bars and restaurants are all close by, along with other entertainment options, making it easy to head out for the evening. The beach and Bournemouth's local attractions are within easy reach too, keeping the Laguna a convenient option for exploring the town on foot.

What guests say
I'd say its an overall fine. The bath has definitely seen better days so id recommend using the shower more than anything. Room for 3 is fairly spacious, but the bathrooms are small. Bring a shower gel with you or buy one in a nearby store. The rooms, you gotta get used to. I keep finding what seems to be like debris and stuff on the mattress even after they done servicing. Its a bit far from the beach and the hills can be a bit daunting, overall its pretty fun. There are several amenities including the pool, jacuzzi, and a snooker table with tbale tennis in a shed right next to it. Personally, i was not daring enough to go to the pool because i dont think there are any changing rooms so it makes it kind of confusing. The staff are lovely, even if i barely interact with them. The people are also great. There is 1 yellow ball missing from the snooker table. But you can ask for extra balls at the reception if needed. For those who have a hard time sleeping with the sound of a busy road, this is not for you. If you are looking for the pier, its gonna be about a 30 minute walk give or take. Shortest route to the beach maybe 15 to 20 minutes. We ended up just having drinks from a shop nearby because you have a kettle and stuff, but not like a water filter. I think there is a little bar here we never ended up checking out too. But a complementary bottle of water could have been nice.At least you get tea cups and such. Overall, not a bad stay. We were able to do a lot of exploring from here during our 3 day stay. Main improvements, it could use some freshening up. I've seen one of the roof tiles in the room show signs of water damage, possibly from something above. Perhaps a new billard table and table tennis set, the paddles were wearing out a bunch to the point some have the rubber stripped right off the paddle. Stay at your own leisure. I would say the price definitely checks out since the rooms are dated and its quite a treck from the beach. But they at least have good amenities.

Chosen for its value with a pool. It’s a complex of 6-8 large detached houses from the 30s. Parking spaces are tight but we were lucky as it’s not school holidays. The pool was useful but too deep for younger children or non swimmers. The games room was fun but the pool table was ripped and the table tennis bats and cues etc at the end of their life. The room was clean and the mattresses ok but although there was a kettle the other facilities weren’t there. It’s budget so I should have brought soaps and shampoos etc. There was only a bath but no shower hose to rinse your hair. When I pointed this out the helpful receptionist offered another room but we’d already unpacked so agreed to use the pool shower. The room was incredibly noisy, often feeling there was someone in the room but it’s an old building. I didn’t mind that the room wasnt cleaned every day as it didn’t need it. We left our dirty towels by the door and if you found the cleaner they would give you more. The location was not bad and the walk into town was through the park so that was a plus. In summary the older grandchildren liked the pool and deck chairs and the table tennis/pool room (albeit very scruffy). We felt it too noisy and the lack of shower disappointing. We never tried the breakfast.

I am not one to leave negative reviews but this cannot be helped. Began our stay with lovely check in staff and that’s just about the only positive thing I have to say. The rooms were disgusting, filled with hairy carpets, blood stained bed sheets and limescale filled bathrooms. I asked to change room and this was no better and I now have some sort of insect bite which I’m hoping isn’t bed bugs. The kettle was also filled with limescale so unsafe to even make a hot drink or baby bottle. The bathroom was filled with limescale, black mould on the grout between the tiles and rusty shower rails. The hotel doesn’t provide anything for babies. There were no high chairs so we could eat as a family in the hotel so had to constantly eat out. The hotel is positioned 10-15 minute walk from town but unfortunately is near a few very busy roads and with single glazed windows everything can be heard from the rooms. There were signs saying it was designated quiet time between 2200 and 700 but yet there were people outside on the grounds shouting and screaming. Overall this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed in and would recommend no one to stay here unless you enjoy dirty and loud surroundings. Nothing about this met basic levels of hygiene or comfort.

Overall satisfied with the hotel we stayed in. Wasn’t the cleanest and had to ask a member of staff to clean the toilet before use but they were happy to do so. It is old-fashioned with the majority of people being elderly but that didn’t matter to us. There was entertainment, a swimming pool with jacuzzi and a play room which consisted of a pool table and table tennis. Very good price for what we got. Beds were comfy and clean. Plenty of room and storage. Thank you.
