About Mount Stuart Hotel

Rooms at the Mount Stuart Hotel come with en-suite bathrooms and drinks available on request, along with family rooms for those travelling in a group. Free WiFi is provided throughout, and while the hotel carries a period charm in its décor, some rooms show their age and could do with more consistent upkeep.

Downstairs there's a bar and outdoor seating for a quiet drink, plus breakfast each morning, which some find satisfying and others a little limited in choice. Reception operates around the clock, so arrival times are flexible. The hotel sits on Tregonwell Road in central Bournemouth, within easy reach of the seafront and town, with pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby.

Beyond the hotel itself, the area suits walkers and cyclists, and watersports and golf are both within reach for those wanting to fill their days actively rather than just relax by the sea.

A beautiful, historic hotel with so much charm — let down only by cleanliness We had a great stay here overall. The staff were absolutely lovely, very friendly and helpful, and the location is wonderful — right in a perfect spot to enjoy Bournemouth. 📍 Just like your other favourite hotel, this one is full of history too — built way back in 1860s, it carries such a wonderful sense of the past. As soon as you step inside, you notice that same special scent of days gone by and feel this incredible, timeless atmosphere all around you. It really is something special if you love historic places! 🕰️✨ Breakfast was delicious and really enjoyable — great quality and choice every morning. 🥞☕ However, there was one big issue that stopped it being perfect: Sadly, the standard of cleanliness was not what we expected. The bed linen felt old, worn, and quite simply not clean. I actually ended up with acne breakouts on my face afterwards, which I am certain was caused by the dirty pillows — this was really disappointing and uncomfortable. 😣 It is such a shame, because this place has everything else going for it. If they just improved their housekeeping and paid more attention to hygiene and fresh linens, it would be truly amazing. We really hope they will fix this soon, because we would absolutely love to return and give it another chance! ❤️

I am absolutely not happy and would not recommend this place.. gave the two stars because of the great location and lovely reception staff.. the floor in our room was full of sticky candies, and candy wrappings, it was just not hoovered even though they had plenty of time - we arrived in the evening.. bathroom was not cleaned properly , no ventilation in the bathroom so the whole steam would go into the room and was smelling like damp.. even though we kept windows open the whole stay.. they charge you extra £5 /night for parking, which was not specified when booking, app was saying free parking.. we were left one tiny roll of toilet paper - 4 people 2 nights stay.. breakfast was ok, and the reception staff was very friendly. overall i would not come back here for sure nor would recommend to anyone!

The hotel is in a great location. Close to town, the BIC, and the beach. Considering it is so close to town, the road is very quiet and peaceful. Room was comfortable, breakfast was good, and coffee available all day. The staff are very helpful and can provide much needed information. Overall, great value for money.

Considering I paid almost £400 to stay here for 3 days I would of thought I would atleast get a hot meal for the included breakfast. Instead I was offered only toast and cereal, causing us to then go elsewhere for breakfast, paying more money for something that was supposed to be included. Bed sheets were dirty, shower moldy, toilet had skid marks like the cleaner had done a number 2 before handing us the keys. The place honestly needs some work. The EHO sign on the front is an absolute joke, no way are they rated 5 for hygiene. They honestly need a revist. On top of all this you have to pay for parking.
