About Russell Court Hotel
Rooms at the Russell Court Hotel are simple and straightforward, giving guests a bed for the night without frills. Some rooms show their age and upkeep can be patchy, so it's worth knowing that maintenance and hot water have occasionally let the side down. That said, the hotel makes up ground on value, with rates that suit those wanting a no-fuss stay near the coast.
Downstairs there's a restaurant and bar for meals and drinks on site, along with breakfast, a lift, a garden, and laundry and luggage storage for practical needs. The hotel also hosts weddings and events. Staff are consistently described as friendly and willing to help, which counts for a lot when a stay is otherwise basic.
The location on Bath Road puts guests within easy reach of Bournemouth's beach and town centre, with pubs, restaurants and entertainment nearby. Free on-site parking is a useful bonus for anyone arriving by car in a town where parking can be tight.

Good value for the money. I stayed in a single room. It was basic, a bit older, but with a new comfortable bed and a big TV. Everything was clean. The shower pressure was very weak, that was the biggest issue of the stay. At breakfast, it's not a buffet style, but they bring you a plate from the menu - the preparation of it took a good 10 minutes.

I had an excellent experience at Russell Court Hotel and would like to give special thanks to the manager, Alex. From the moment we arrived, Alex welcomed us with professionalism and kindness, making us feel truly valued as guests. Throughout our stay, he was attentive, always available, and ready to assist with anything we needed, ensuring everything ran smoothly. It is clear that Alex is passionate about his work. His attention to detail, communication skills, and commitment to providing high-quality service truly make a difference. Thanks to Alex, our stay was not only comfortable but also very enjoyable. We felt respected and well taken care of at all times. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone looking for excellent service and a stress-free experience. We will definitely be returning!

I rarely leave negative reviews, but unfortunately this stay was extremely disappointing from start to finish. The room itself was incredibly basic and lacked what I would consider fundamental facilities. Most notably, there was no reliable hot water, which made even a simple shower impossible. The heating also appeared ineffective — the room was freezing throughout the night, making it very uncomfortable to sleep. Noise was another major issue. The walls seemed paper-thin, with constant disturbance from neighbouring rooms and corridors, meaning there was very little chance of getting proper rest. The overall atmosphere of the hotel felt unusual and somewhat unsettling. It appeared that some rooms were being used for temporary accommodation, which contributed to a very different environment than expected when booking a standard hotel stay. To make matters worse, during the evening a woman staying in a nearby room approached me and attempted to solicit services, which was both unexpected and deeply uncomfortable. This completely ruined any sense of safety or professionalism I would expect from a hotel. Overall, the experience fell far below even modest expectations. Basic comfort, quiet, and security are the minimum most guests look for — unfortunately, this stay failed on all counts.

My husband and I stayed for two nights, and unfortunately, our experience was not great. The room was dirty, and there were hairs on the bed. The bathroom was very small, and the shower was too hot with no way to adjust the temperature properly. The walls had many marks and clearly need repainting. Although breakfast was included and was okay, the dining area was quite dirty, with bits all over the floor. It really needs to be cleaned more regularly. The receptionist was not very pleasant and didn’t even smile, which made us feel unwelcome. The lift was also quite scary it was small and felt like it was bouncing. Overall, the place needs significant improvement, including better cleaning, repainting, and replacing the carpets.
