About Rhydywernen Farm Camping Site

Tucked into peaceful Powys countryside yet just ten minutes from Brecon, Rhydywernen Farm strikes a lovely balance between rural charm and national park convenience. Spacious grass and hardstanding pitches back onto woodland and a gentle river – ideal for young explorers armed with fishing nets – while the site's friendly miniature donkeys are a perennial hit with families. Modern, spotless shower and toilet facilities include thoughtful extras like a communal fridge-freezer and microwave, though water pressure can dip during busy spells.

The location is superb for walkers and cyclists, with quiet country paths starting right from your pitch and the full sweep of the Brecon Beacons within easy reach for hiking, mountain biking, gorge walking and canoeing. Firepits and barbecues are available to hire if you fancy cooking under the stars, or Brecon's pubs and cafés are just up the road. A peaceful, family-friendly atmosphere prevails – no loud music after 10.30pm – making this a relaxed base for exploring one of Wales's most beautiful corners.

Wanted to leave a review for this lovely campsite. It’s easy to get to as it’s on the main road, but you can walk out the back and access lovely hikes too and waterfalls close by. Most importantly the owner is lovely, she is really friendly and helpful. I’ll be back I’m sure!

Fantastic campsite. I had a peaceful few days at the site. Exellent facilities and lots of shaded pitches. Easy 30 min walk into Brecon. For the animal lovers - there are friendly donkeys and lots of goats to stroke!

What a smashing little find. Reasonably priced, clean facilities, wash up area has a fridge, microwave and freezer. Showers where free, with hot water and good pressure. Farm animals, including donkeys, but surprisingly not many flies. River and walks close by and short drive to Brecon. We will definitely be back for a longer stay next time.

This is a gorgeous site, I was parked on grass backing onto a stream and under trees. There are a few fields available to camp in, there is electric hook up and the facilities are clean and modern. One of us had car trouble and the farmer was very helpful. There were baby goats, lambs and a newborn donkey. Its situated near so many things to do as well.
