About Cantref Camp Site
Tucked away near Brecon in the Bannau Brycheiniog National Park, Cantref Camp Site offers a straightforward base for exploring Powys with a decent range of facilities. Pitches come with electric hook-up and WiFi, showers and toilets are on hand, and campfires are allowed – always a bonus for atmospheric evenings under the stars. Dogs are welcome, making it a handy option for families travelling with four-legged friends.
The site keeps things simple and functional rather than fancy, and some visitors note it can feel a little tired in places. Still, for a no-frills stopover in beautiful countryside, it does the job well enough.

What visitors say
During our three-week road trip with our rooftop tent, Cefn Cantref Campsite was one of our first stops, and what a fantastic start it was. The views of Pen y Fan are simply stunning. The campsite is one large, spacious field, so there's plenty of room and privacy. The shower and toilet facilities were absolutely spotless throughout our stay. One of the highlights is that you can walk across the fields straight into Brecon and start your hike up Pen y Fan from there, making it a great base for exploring the area. There's very little natural shade, so if you're visiting on sunny days, it's worth bringing a sunshade or awning. Thank you for a lovely stay, we'd happily recommend this campsite to anyone visiting the Brecon Beacons.

We went with our disabled son and also a six week baby and it was fantastic. Owners were amazing and offered us any help. There is a fridge onsite so breastfeeding friendly. The disabled facilities are fantastic, showers and disabled toilets are so clean and amazing. We were really impressed with the site, so spacious and the kids could just run. Will be going again!

Great little campsite. We only stayed one night as part of a road trip. Decent facilities that were clean. Easy check in, easy to find - and oh what a view! It's super quiet too. Just what we needed. Would definitely stay again.
